Uboat said:Morning team. Apologies for my performance last night. I'd been drinking since 11am, with sadly predictable consequences. If you take out the swearing and aggression I basically stand by what I said. The fact that Wembley was amazing and made you feel warm and fuzzy doesn't mean RD will approach this transfer window any differently to the others. If he is still our owner this season Bowyer will have to work an even bigger miracle than he did this season. Maybe he will and obviously we all hope so.

"Hi there!"
"Hi, we haven't spoken in ages. How are you?"
"I am great thanks. You?"
"Yeah, really good. Where are you?"
"I don't answer anything business related. Good day to you sir!"24 -

If us now being in the Championship isn't the impetus for one of the f**king groups to pull their collective fingers out then I don't know what is.
I'm with @Off_it on this one. Thumb screws or the rack for LDT at the fans forum this week.1 -

This month is the most important in cafc recent history.
The momentum from the Luton home win till the Wembley victory and the return of the masses to support and give energy to our football team was a wonder to behold.
If that momentum is allowed to be lost by Bowyer and his team not being offered improved contracts, commensurate with their success on the field then the fall out will be shocking.
Hell hath no fury like a rich owner scorned.
I hope the folk on CL who believe it's 100% money with Duchatelet are correct and those like myself who believe it's money and a degree of revenge are wrong.
If Charlton Athletic are to become a vibrant football club with new younger fans that were at the valley for the semi final and at Wembley, then it's paramount that my fears are unfounded.0 -

I think there are always interested parties to buy the club. That’s where our rumour mill gets its grist. I don’t believe there is any one or more groups for that matter that are anywhere near a takeover. Not remotely close and I think we’ll be having the same round of rumours for months and months and months.
Charlton will have one of the smallest Championship budgets and with the likelihood of a major squad rebuild to come then Bowyer is going to have to work miracles to keep us up.
We are in the Championship despite Duchatelet not because of him. He stumbled onto Bowyer because he was in situ and presumably cheap. He stumbled onto this promotion because of Bowyer.
Charlton Athletic are not progressing and won’t all the time the Belgian idiot is owner.
The Wembley promotion impetus and fan euphoria will soon dissipate once the reality of how hard the Championship actually is hits home.
We’ve just climbed a very big ladder and will inevitably slide down an equally long snake until Duchatelet sells.57 -
Sadly I think SHG is spot on.2
-
The euphoria is understandable and welcomed. I just get this itchy feeling in my Charlton supporting bones that the Belgian oxygen thief will leave us wanting resources next year and we will suffer as a consequence... what a bloody waste!1

Here’s some context on the finances: www.votvonline.com
If the club isn’t sold a lot may depend on whether Bowyer gets to spend the extra central revenue or Duchatelet tries to break even.

They were, but when ‘it didn’t happen’ they had to start a new school year in Oz. Couldn’t start a new school year here on the offchance.
The Aussies could still buy the club without GM staying on as CEO of course.0
