It's fantastic news that Richard Murray has made a statement.  Because, with statements, everyone can see exactly what's happening and when to expect a conclusion.  And statements can never be misinterpreted.  So if a statement has been issued we can rely on it, completely.  Especially if the statement is anything to do with Richard Murray. Like this one, clarifying Roland's position with regards to the imminent takeover:
In terms of detail he [Roland] will continue to be constrained by the terms of the non disclosure agreements which are in place but he is very conscious of the level of interest among Charlton fans about the issue of the club's ownership and the frustration many are feeling about the current situation. We anticipate that he [Murray] will be seeking to keep fans as well informed as possible.
    This was from February 2018

Murray's in the wrong job, he is much more successful at being a magician, he said a few things to tag us along for a while, then totally disappeared. He even managed to get the Orange One's Lawyers to suddenly appear at Dowies inauguration as Manager!, not forgetting he almost made the club disappear when you consider who he sold it to.

You mean we are not actually sold until someone has actually legally taken over? Never knew that. I thought that as long as it was on the Charlton website that would be fine.
So what you are saying is that if my house has an estate agents board outside saying “sold”, it is not actually sold until the money has been exchanged and the legal bits completed?
Well you learn something new every day.

  • There may well be new peeps wanting to buy us.

    But there’s still Douchbag.

Nothing to see here, move along now.

I’m just hoping the Yanks see the urgency in getting this takeover over the line before we slip further down the table. As it stands we are still closer to the top six then relegation. A significant investment in the team and the retention of Bowyer, Jackson and Gallen and who knows what we might actually achieve!

This needs to happen - walking into oblivion this summer, whole new team will be needed (again) and manager ...

Not quite as bad as this summer as Gallen has already said that signings were made to ensure that we didnt have to deal with a massive of signings next summer
From the latest list of players that I could find on here its just the below out of contract (those in bold have options to extend)
    Taylor | Page | Sarr | Solly | Pratley | Forster-Caskey | Amos | Williams

Alternatively, a slide down the table and disenchantment with the management.

Bowyer gets fed up the owner and buggers off in the summer and we are back to square one.

Only three of those playing on a consistent basis...
Plus they're loans, you can guarantee that Bowyer / Gallen will fill those slots again, same with any team

I make Taylor, Williams, Solly, Gallagher, Cullen and Leko all first team players so that’s 6. Plus the other bodies above who regularly get game time. No other way to dress it up, it’s a big number of players heading out the door, again. You can’t also guarantee you’re going to get the quality in we have had this year in Gallagher + Cullen in particular.

Yup; Williams will no doubt take up the option of an extra year - Do you seriously see Solly leaving, same with Forster-Caskey if he continues to impress
Thats nine players in total compared with the 14 we had to replace last season
And I was one of those who didnt think we'd manage it in the summer, have every faith in Gallen having an easier job to do come next summer
That doesnt even include those we could end up signing in January

Williams will go to a team that can pay him the wages he deserves IMO.

RE your other point, I have absolute faith in Gallen, but there is no certainty he will stay, and you can add Bowyer to that too.

Pratley signed an extension a couple of months ago. You can add Hemed to the list as well too...Of the rest of that list, Taylor and Williams are the only ones we'd be desperate to keep

He wouldn't need a consortium. He could buy us with his pocket change. In fact he could buy every team in the football league with his pocket change......

Yes, in terms of Amazon profit made in 2018, if Roland does really want £60mil for the club, it would only take 2 days for Bezos to make that money back...

We find ourselves at ”yet another” pivotal crossroads, how many pivotal crossroads can a sane fan take, we have been there time and time again over the last few years, the mind boggling uncertainty goes on and on. Just how it will turn out is anyone’s guess with this lunatic at the helm.
Do we move forward, stand still or go disastrously backwards.....who bloody knows?
Dealing with this guy is simply torturous beyond comprehension.
Sorry to post the bleeding obvious, but I just had to share my anxiety with you guys.....though I know you ALL feel just the same.

I find all this situation too painful and frustrating now.

Our club is basically a blindman who is holding gold or millions of pounds.

We are extremely good....but owners are just constantly screwing us over ever since Curbs left.

I just hate Roland so much.

But those sort of clubs tend to avoid players with a poor injury record.

It did occur to me to wonder whether the inflated £60M price tag leak was made in order to be able to announce "reduced for a quick Black Friday Sale" at the end of this week...

But then (my) sanity returned, and I remembered all the previous evidence that Roland knows the price of everything and the value of nothing - and realised that the next news will probably be that the sale is off because the buyers will have discovered they will STILL be liable for the former directors' £7M loans!!

For pity's sake Roland, accept you're not going to get back all the money you and Katrien wasted between you, during years of mismanagement.  Set a realistic "priced to sell" valuation and stick to it, and get CAFC off your hands before our traditional post-Christmas slump takes us down to the relegation zone and halves the value it currently has.

Just sell the club and bugger off!
  • I wonder how Bob Munro got on tonight? He said earlier today he was seeing the Aussies in Stoke although I am not sure if he was representing Roland.

That isn't what I meant though is it? I said Murray has made comments to lead us to believe that we are close before. That was the main point.

Yes. Murray did. Wascit Feb last year or year before when he came out and said "it has never been so close. I expect it to go through by feb"?
