I am convinced that if Arsenal had not sacked their manager today Charlton would be getting extensive coverage this morning on Sky”s Football Centre. I accept that the Arsenal story is the bigger one. But I have been watching for the last 90 minutes and not even a mention of the Charlton Takeover.

Praise be that we are finally rid of the useless Duchatelet. The name of the investment company and the statement from the new owners suggest that they have been getting some good advice from someone who really knows the score - certainly none of the present incumbents. Let's not get ahead of ourselves but this could be a very exciting point in the history of the club. It will certainly be a welcome relief to Lee Bowyer and the boys. You can bet your bottom dollar we will get turned over tomorrow by Wednesday - it almost won't matter though, because this is the start of a much brighter and better future for all of us.22

The Spivs takeover was announced at the start of December 2010 and completed at the end of the month
The Roland takeover was announced at the end of December 2013 and completed quite quickly in early January (maybe too quickly!)
