Reams is saying that he has received a text saying takeover has been rejected by EFL. Hopefully the text was from Ackworth.14

Mametz said:Just because that the people taking control of the club are very rich and have connections to people who are very, very, very rich indeed, some posters on here seem to think that it is axiomatic that they will spend untold millions on the club. This may not be so. For my part, if as a result of this takeover, we can start to financially compete with the majority of other clubs in this division, then I will be delighted.
I have supported Charlton since 1964 and we have always sold most of our best players to bigger clubs. From Bailey to Parker that has been the way. Even during the 90’s as we rose to the Premier League we sold Lee to Newcastle and Bowyer to Leeds. However,Taylor to Brentford? BFG to Preston?
If this takeover means we only sell our best players when a truly bigger club pays the appropriate fee, then the step forward from the Duchatelet era will be enormous. Anything more than that will be a bonus.
Good post, but I really don't think the owners have bought us to carry on struggling in The Championship.
Where's the kudos in that ?
Socialising with the other excellencies and Sheiks who are chatting about Man C and our guys chatting about our struggles to beat Barnsley.
I really really really do not think their ambition is to compete with Barnsley, Wigan and Millwall.1 -

I am a bit confused on why he always he has so much inside information, no attachment to the club since 1986. Who is left over from those days who still feeds the info? Derek Ufton maybe3

The post said "Just had a txt saying EFL have turned down the takeover! Not sure how true it is as I have heard nothing to suggest that is the case."
Make of it what you will, I'm ignoring it.

Having said that, this is Charlton and nothing is ever straightforward. If our new middle eastern overlords are attempting to obscure the identity of the actual owner that could be a problem. It was the same nonsense Jimenez and Slater pulled so maybe they're having the drains up this time round - plus we made the EFL look like clueless mugs who don't give a toss about fans not so long ago...2 - Sponsored links:

If the EFL turns it down he'll say I told you so.
If the EFL agree the takeover, he'll say I told you so.
Just another desperate attention seeker.
Anyway, we're not allowed to discuss him or the other site for good reason, so we should leave it there.22 -
The nigels are now 5th in the prem. The sooner we can get started on clawing our way back to be anywhere near their level the better!2

The EFL never even "Rejected" the Aussies. They just never received all the documentation requested. And we were told that face to face at the meeting with the EFL then CEO, Shaun Harvey. They simply waited....and waited...and waited.
in fact I don't think there is a documented case of them rejecting anyone. even Cellino, facing a jail sentence...1 -

Cawley said they’d be starting EFL interviews later this week.
unlikely that they’d make a decision that quick.3 -
