Haven't been to an away match this year . . in fact struggled to force myself to go to the Valley - but have seen too many reports of the type of behaviour. Just where do these tossers come from? Are they the same people? How do they travel - coach, train? If so perhaps they can be traced and emasculated. Or is that going a tad too far?

Tossers in your opinion. Who are you to tell others who should and should come? Football is for all and sundry.
Tell that to some unfortunate sod who gets hurt by one of these flares. See 'redsek' post. People who travel to away games (and in fact those that go the Valley) are representing our club as much as the players on the pitch. I would suggest if they can't behave like sensible adults that they go and support a club (no names mentioned ) who may appreciate their efforts where this type of behaviour is seen as the norm.

Whilst I don't condone throwing such things, let's be clear that there is a world of difference between a flare and a smoke bomb, which these were. Throwing both is dumb as, but a flare offers a very different risk to a smoke bomb.

Do you think you could tell the difference immediately after one hits you on the back of the head?
  • It was me that threw the smoke bomb - My name is Spartacus.
  • It was West Ham.
  • No I'm Spartacus
  • Throwing flares is just a bit of a laugh innit. Weve all been 18! When I was 18 we had to make do with bricks, darts and bottles.

    It's all just bants!

If you get hit by a flare then you should just man up and see the funny side!

  • Some mouthy gits held the train up for about 20 mins yesterday. Didn't have tickets and refused to get off.

If my legs were on fire, probably. As I said, not condoning either but 'flare' and 'smoke bomb' are not interchangeable terms.

Sorry but they both generate heat and are dangerous. They are not designed to be used in a crowd.

All footballers playing for Charlton and wearing the club shirt that don't give a toss about our club should serve a lifetime ban in everything that goes on in the world.
