Protest suggestion

Not sure if you mean FA officials or club officials - either way there is no case for intervention in our case by the former, whilst we can hardly accuse our owner of having his nose in the trough given how much money he has injected.
The unanswered (unanswerable?) question is why he has done it in such a reckless incompetent fashion.1 -

So there ya go DiscoCAFC, it`s already set up for you. Will you be there on the 6th ?0 -
Agreed they are not exactly the same BUT they do have a lot in common. All ignore the history of the club and that the club is an important part of the community. All put personal self interest paramount and ignore the fans and the communities. The guardian video which suggests owning a football club (on behalf of a community) should be akin to owning a listed building.newyorkaddick said:I think we should just wait for our owners to move on as a direct result of their own ineptitude (a process that seems underway), rather than ally ourselves with clubs whose problems are far more extreme than ours.
We may not like the way the club is being run but pretending it has anything in common with Blackpool, Orient or Coventry does those clubs and their fans a disservice.0 -
Of course there's something in common. Coventry's owners have been there a lot longer and had several more season in the Championship than we did under RD.
If RD continues it's not unbelievable to suggest we might be in a similar position to them in a few years.1 -
How has he, and so many others, been allowed to do it by the FA / EFL? Surely that's the pertinent question, and makes for the focus of a protest by the fans of the clubs affected.newyorkaddick said:Not sure if you mean FA officials or club officials - either way there is no case for intervention in our case by the former, whilst we can hardly accuse our owner of having his nose in the trough given how much money he has injected.

And he'd have got away with it too if it wasn't for those pesky protesters.newyorkaddick said:

The protests were not much in evidence from the time Riga arrived in 2014 and the end of the 2014/15 season, during which time we got a creditable 84 points from 62 games using a combination of new signings, homegrown and network players.Alwaysneil said:

The 'experiment' unravelled horribly thereafter for a variety of reasons (plus their execution went completely awry) but in itself it wasn't necessarily flawed.

Apologies - I forgot one couldn't post a reasoned argument on this site which the majority might disagree with without getting sworn at.SoundAsa£ said:

Really? Didn't look that way at the 5-0 at Watford in January 2015 or when 400 people turned out at Woolwich in February to discuss how to deal with the regime.newyorkaddick said:

Luzon had a hot streak of seven wins in nine games which changed the narrative for a time, but there were plenty of people in early 2015 who could see where it was all heading.8 -
Once Standard Liege were no longer part of the network it ended our chance of getting players like Bulot and Buyens. Even then it was only a short term plan as they came on season long loans. JBG on a free was a rare exception.Airman Brown said:

I'd agree that the basic idea of a mixture of academy, European and British players wasn't flawed but they completely failed in terms of appointing managers, coaches, managing fitness and carrying out proper scouting (of both signings and the opposition).
Add a lack of genuine footballing ambition to that and we were never going to last long in the Championship under RD. Nevermind anything better than that.1 -
Absolutely a good idea and it should be done soon as possible.0

Could organize something for the day of the fixture release for next season?0

It was flawed because it clearly hasnt worked but it wasn't necessarily totally flawed. We've seen some pretty good players, some that wouldn't be (and in fact are not) out of place in the PL. some of the play has been great and for a 20 minute purple patch against Derby probably ranked with some of the best football to grace the Valley's pitch. What clearly hasnt worked is the managers have tended to get found out quite quickly and their game play gets used against us. Keeping SCP might have been the difference between success and failure given he knew the leagues and the teams we were playing each week and he had the total support of the fans. And of course, there's the communication issue that could have been a lot better...newyorkaddick said:
