your starting XIs here are exactly what I (as a fan) want, and your point about the midfield is spot on.cafcfan1990 said:I see the squad as something like this:
New GK
Solly, Konsa, Pearce, New LB
Kashi, JFC
Marshall, New 10, Holmes
Magennis
2nd XI:
Phillips
Barnes, Bauer, Lennon, Page
Crofts, Aribo
Fosu, Clarke, New Winger
Novak
I don't think we need another RB as we have Konsa, Barnes and Charles-Cook all capable of covering there. If Solly was out, I would start Konsa RB and bring Bauer into the starting team.
I don't get the need for Wright but we have 100% made a bid from him. As a 'DM', we have Kashi, Crofts and then possibly Dijksteel. As the more box to box midfielder, we have JFC, Aribo and then possibly even Jackson or Lapslie. I really think with 4 senior CM's, 1 youngster who broke in last year and then another 2 looking to break in this season, it would be a waste of money signing another one.
The only reason we might want Wright is if we don't sign another number 10, and Aribo backs up Clarke in that position. But again, would be a total waste of time IMO as we should leave Wright, leave Aribo as a CM and keep Ceballos.
GK and LB are clearly the priority. I wouldn't mind another attacking midfielder/winger and thought Stewart would be worth a one year deal.
If we got Martin, Da Silva and Stewart, we wouldn't really be spending a penny and still leaves us to get rid of Sarr. I wouldn't mind getting rid of Watt and bringing in another striker though.
a goalie, Da Silva, Stewart and a star no 10 would make this an excellent summer in my opinion.2 -

Hold on, doesn't Roland pretend he doesn't / didn't own STTV?7 - Sponsored links:

You just know that we'll hear reports of them coming back over to England in the January window described as "the backbone of Sochaux's promotion push" or somethingcafc4life said:Sochaux who signed Ba last week have today signed Bergdich too. Their fans don't know what they are in for, poor fuckers

He was rubbish last season and has been rubbish pre-season. No way he would have got in to the first xi of teams who were promoted from League One last season.ShootersHillGuru said:
It's league one. Paddy is certainly good enough.PopIcon said:I don't think Bauer will be starting. If our goal is promotion then he's not good enough.

Not happy at this. Been the best player in the pre-seasons (by those who have been there or watched on-line). Why the hell has he been playing with us if we were going to ship him out ? I don't believe he can be on that bigger wage & even if he was , so what ?? We need decent players & they come at a cost.........or shall we just sign all the no-hopers on £2k p/wk on Aug 31st coz they can't get a gig anywhere else (ala JFC, Crofts and that other player who we let go in May he was that good.....)Scoham said:
All I can say is that KR had better sign the 4 players he needs pretty soon as we have recently shifted out Tex, Ajose & now Ceballos so there must be ££££ around to pay for a goalkeeper, LB and a STRIKER.7 - Sponsored links:

Edit.. Duchatelet was once interested in buying Sochaux.

If Ceballos is off then they must have someone agreed coming in they can announce. They can manage the Ceballos situation whenever they want, but I'm sure they will hold it back for when some positive news is to be thrust upon us. STTV basically said on Saturday it was agreed.6

Actually it's all rather mysterious and complicated.......as is the norm with anything involving Goldfinger and his cloobs.1 -

Whilst I can understand the desire to move out unwanted players and get their salaries off the books before committing to bringing new players in, you do have to wonder why the Texeira and Ceballos exits could not have been managed earlier. After all, it is not as if a certain gentleman could not have influenced things.4

Desperately need a left back and a keeper before the start of the season.
I expect another two squad players to arrive on loan or free transfers just before the end of the transfer window.
Struggling to see where the goals are coming from, apart from Josh and Holmes.
Cannot see Novak or Watt getting more than 5 this season between them.3 -
This rumours thread is the modern day equivalent of sneaking onto my parents phone to ring Clubcall after seeing the exciting ad on Teletext "Addicks chasing star midfielder".....
Only to spend 5 mins sweating as the phone bill rises whilst the guy talks in the slowest voice possible about the new training ground toilets. Then after 10 mins and 500quid on the bill, you hear we are chasing Jeremy Goss.
This thread is the same. 60 new posts and mainly two posters digging each other out before you read Ceballos is off to STTV26 -
As per about a week or 2 weeks ago, this is the transfer rumours thread. Please try and keep it on track
Many thanks17 -
Oh bloody hell, this is pathetic...
Anyway, back to what this thread is about. It's a shame he's gone as I do think he would've been effective this season. Of course physically he isn't great but nor are many players in League One and they do fine.
If it allows Robinson to eventually do some business, which he should've been able to do by now but for more obstacles to be placed in front of him, then that's the positive side.
A goalkeeper, Dasilva, a winger, a striker and hopefully still a number 10 (even I have started to give up on Reeves, the offer is on the table, he is just looking at his options but the season is fast approaching).
Should start to see more incoming activity soon, maybe one before the weekend.1
