Looking forward to the next two games, didn't look forward to many last season so that is a pleasant turnaround. With Mag and Dasilva back in the team I foresee a 2-1 victory.

Yeah me too. This season it feels like every week, baring unforeseen circumstances, we're going to play well (touch wood) and turn up.
If Solly and Kashi are going to struggle to play 3 games in a week, I would suspect that Konsa might come in for both. He could play RB in one game and CM the other. Not sure I would do that but think it could happen. Not sure Dijksteel will start a League game yet and we lack a like for like for Kashi now Crofts has gone. KR clearly labelled Konsa as a CM replacement this morning

Good points. I actually think JFC could play a deeper, more disciplined role allowing Konsa to roam a bit more and utilize his athleticism and ability on the ball. He looks deadly against Northampton (admittedly in the last 10 of a game that was stretched).

Bollox to messing about and micro managing the tactics, I like the new Attack, Attack, Attack Attack Attack approach we seem to have adopted...works for me
Robinson, who worked with Reeves at MK Dons, added: “He trained yesterday, but he’s not fully fit. He’s back outside and running today, running tomorrow and hopefully on Saturday.
“We’ve just got to get him up to that speed - there’s no muscular endurance in him yet.
“The tight calf that he had was through fatigue. He’s passed the running tests with flying colours but the longevity of the game sometimes puts you close to muscle fatigue.
“It was only a grade one that he had but it’s because he wasn't at a level that the rest of the players were that we demand. We’ve got to make sure we’re patient with him.
I like the way Robinson talks about fitness and injury. There is a real deliberation and thoughtfulness in it. It's certainly frustrating not having Reeves (I imagine the player himself is frustrated as well), but I'd rather we're careful with him now and get him fully fit now, while we have a *relatively* healthy and firing squad so that when the Christmas season rolls around and we're bombarded with fixtures we know we can rely on him for 90 minutes.
Agree but I'm a little pissed that the reason Reeves is still unfit six weeks into our season is because he decided to mess about during the close season. It's 100% his fault.

That's exactly what KR has done. Kashi doesn't drop deep between the centre backs just because he felt like it. No doubt there are other instructions KR has given them that are a lot less noticeable.

Its frustrating but guess its the same for Ben Reeves too.
He had opportunities to play out in Spain and potentially either La Liga or the level below so probably pinned his chances of playing out in the Bernabeu or Nou Camp... that obviously fell through or didnt materialise as he was promised so joined us
He was holding out just in case Coutinho to Barca fell through as his agent said he was second option. That and his promising Saturday job at Sainsburies......
I follow someone on twitter who is backing Charlton to win by 2 goals, a tipster. Now that everyone assumes this is formality we will do the most charlton thing and lose or draw 0-0
Still think the wheels are gonna fall off in October/November due to lack of depth in the squad, although starting to contemplate the possibility that my judgement might be clouded by hatred and bitterness towards Roland and Katrien and dislike of the Scouse Talking Machine.
Yet to face a promotion contender and should breeze past injury-hit Southend.
3-0 to us, good preparation for a genuine test of our credentials on Tuesday evening.
My son is mascot tomorrow and he's only met big Josh twice before. Once was to hand him champagne after his hat trick and the other was the other week after he had scored. I've just bet my house on Big Josh scoring tomorrow as he's escorting my son tomorrow

Hoping for a comfortable 2-0 Josh and Reeves
Reeves will not be part of the squad according to KR.

If I've got the right referee Gavin Ward looks about 11 years old.
(Is it a sign of age when the refs look young)?
This will be an authentic indicator of where we are in the hierarchy of this division in my view (as will Wigan on Tuesday). Southend are a top half /play off contender team in this division and wily old Phil Brown will be fully clued up on our weaknesses.
It was his right to hold out as it was ours not to sign him. We decided to and he clearly felt the terms were right so good luck to him. How ridiculous would signing a player then not paying all his wages because he should have signed (possibly a worse) contract earlier? It was up to us to persuade him earlier, surely!

after reading that im shoving a tenner on a Charlton win with a Big Josh goal, tell your boy not to let me down.
Should be a good game and it already looks like Southend could be draw specialists this season? We ship goals too easily which willl not be good for the nerves. 2-2 with Southend scoring a late equaliser.
