Bent has to be injured - as good a player as Alan Smith is he is not a goalscorer.

Either that or Mclaren is just a complete mug. I am going to the Brazil game and was bloody hoping Benty would be there.

    IF benty signs for a top four club (or Spurs) he will be in the next squad. If he stays with us he won't. That just how McClaren and Sven think. Sad but true

    ...AND he's away on holiday.

    He probably didn't even bother thinking about the squad announcement and just booked his trip. Who can blame him after the way he's been ignored by Sven and Mclaren?

    Bent said last week that he has been playing with an injury and not properly fit for the last month of the season -and that he needed rest and time away to let the injury properly heal.

    So I guess he's declared himself unfit to Steve McLown.

    Bent is definitely injured and not available for selection.

    Besides, why worry about it when that world superstar David Beckham is going to come back and rescue the entire campaign from disaster?
