I'm thinking about investing in one of their bonds, paying 7-8% interest, fixed. Do any of our investment experts have any information or guidance.

I'm retired, so I have a low appetite for risk, but cash in the bank does nothing but slowly erode in value.

If your low risk, then no. Your capital is at risk with these bonds. Nothing wrong with them mind, and in my view you are unlikely to lose everything, but only risk what you are prepared to lose.
