Apologies for the lack of update last week, work is brutal at moment and I just can’t get the PC time to put the hours in required for this. International Break is as welcome at CL Towers as Michelle Keegan saying “it’s really hot in here, would you be offended if I take my top off?”.
Week 7 was another low scoring week with the average score being just 1 point. Of the 459 score predictions, just 20 were a correct score. Had West Ham beat Swansea 2-0 instead of 1-0, that would have been significantly different. Sheff U to win away at Forest was also hugely backed and flopped, as was Everton at home to Burnley (fair play to the couple of you that got Burnley 1-0 correct).
@Beardface retains his lead at the top but his early maximum of 14 points in Week 2 is slowly but surely being clawed back.
@T.C.E has been the big mover over the last fortnight. A 4pt and 5pt haul has lifted him 87 places, so it just shows you only need a couple of good weeks to make a serious move.
I’ve tried dicking around a bit with the presentation this week and have put everyone into a football pyramid structure. No idea if its better or not, but might be a bit more fun for those of us not competing at the top of the table to try and move up leagues etc. Whilst the points are quite bunched then there is a bit of alphabetical luck in involved, but its good to know my decision to adopt a username beginning with ‘A’ 21 years ago is finally paying dividends :-)
Of the 153 players, 23 have already used up their 3 byes and now stop accumulating the weekly average if they miss any more weeks. I won't be posting from now on each week which ones who omitted were awarded the average score, you''ll just have to trust me as its becoming far to difficult to fiddle around and present.
