I was really worried about the ref when he went down yesterday. I didn't see the contact with Magennis and I was worried he'd just collapsed on his own and wasn't moving. He may not have had a good first half, but certainly glad he got up ok.
unfortunately as the game gets faster and more competitive with more incentives to win, and as players get bigger and more committed, we will see more serious injuries and perhaps deaths ...
It's unclear from the footage what happens. It looks as though his own player kicks/knees him in the side and there is speculation it was a broken rib that punctured his heart. Not sure if the official cause has been announced as yet.
It's a real sad story as he was a one-club man and a bit of a legend there
