Ebay, Amazon, Uber, Google and all the other US tax avoiding companies.

There is no special technology involved in any of these global US tax avoiding companies. So why isn't there a UK or European alternative that pays their due? Or perhaps we just don't know them. Any nominations?

You could try Duck Duck Go instead of google. Still American, of course! But it's a quite small company (only 20+ employees) so even if it is avoiding tax, it won't be much tax! And they don't harvest data about you or bombard you with adverts.
It's quite a snappy search engine. But it is just a search engine and is not trying to take over the world like google.

Ironically this in a way means you're better off using Google who employ hundreds if not thousands in the UK and HRMC gets income from income tax and NI paid by and on behalf of these employees.

(I'm not in any way suggesting that the industrial tax avoidance of certain big corporations is in anyway morally legit)
  • Don't fret. Corbyn will be gunning for them.
  • Once we get round to making Uber and its drivers pay VAT you can choose Data or Carlton without paying a significant premium.
