Really feel for him, just cant seem to catch a break. Its almost like its become a parody of itself. This is the 2nd time this season he has made his long awaited return to the U23s only to break down early. The guy cant catch a break at all. Not even enough to return to first team training or to play 5 or so games. genuinely think he would improve us - particularly in a back 4.

Huge shame all round and horrible to see the undoubted talent not being realised.

Must be horrible for him. Can't imagine what he is feeling right now.

Poor block needs to retire. No way should someone be this prone to injuries.
That explains the lack of flexibility I guess.
  • I'd guess that 95% of this forum, even those who haven't played football for 15-20 years, could run about for 12 minutes and not get injured. But not a bloke whose actual job it is.

I'd guess he needs to go off and see a specialist somewhere.

I truly feel for him but football is a business and how much money must we have wasted while he sat on the sideline. Surely he has to retire.

Surely he needs to call it a day. I feel sorry for the bloke, but this can’t be doing much for him mentally. It’s also a waste of time us paying him knowing he is always injured.

His Excellency and his injury technology got a hell of a job here.

    Really feel for the bloke.
His only chance of getting a contract at the end of this season will be on a pay as you play contract.
Only young still.he must be gutted.
  • Unless he was only ever scheduled to play 12 mins and we are just bringing him back really really slowly.....
Yeah your not the only one to question that!! - Really hope its the case but be odd

I wouldn't be shocked if he retired. It must be so depressing to go through all the physio and recovery just to break down again and again. Really feel for the bloke.

Man, this is gutting. I hope he's alright mentally. It's not like he'd be enjoying this.

There must be something wrong with the physio side of our infrastructure.

I know Page is injury prone but 13 other players injured in the season? It's not big fluke is it?
More than 13 have been injured, I think its nearer 19 individuals but 13 at one time.

We’ve had some serious back luck with injuries but all jokes aside, we genuinely haven’t had a first choice left back for 15 months now.

    Depends on the injury though:

Forster-Caskey (Hamstring) | Lapslie (Hamstring) | Page (Glass) | Aneke (Muscular)

Think they're the only ones that can be seriously linked to the physios, unless I'm missing any

Maybe his new trade could be a Physio? Im sure he is well aware of what techniques are needed!! Imagine getting paid for 3 years & not actually doing any work... In all seriousness though, he really should be thinking about calling it a day. This must be so mentally draining for him.

I’m pretty certain they would have tried that already. Not really sure what the answer is, think the bloke will be lucky to play again.

Such a shame. Good player but just made of glass. His situation and others like Aneke do begin to make you wonder if the club is doing everything right. Are we really cursed?
  • Trouble is we can mention the Abu Dhabi specialists coming over and whether they can help him in some way

But hasnt he already gone over to the Middle East to see specialists etc.?

Going off topic slightly (dont tell Paulie)

    Amos,
    Matthews, Purrington, Page
    Field, Cullen Kayal, Lapslie, JFC
    Williams, Aneke, Oztumer
    Taylor, Hemed, Leko, Bonne

I make it 16 players have had an injury at some point this season. Oddly CB is the only position where we haven't lost players.

Only Page and WIlliams had a real injury history before this season.

Couple of freak injuries (Amos finger, Field and Taylor Knees, Leko?)
Couple who didnt have a proper pre season (Matthews, Hemed, Kayal, Oztumer)
Some asked to play through injury due to lack of numbers (Purrington, Oztumer)
Some over played when needed a rest (Bonne, Williams JFC -on his way back from injury)
    The rest?

I think I see the problem.  Just googled the medical team at Sparrow Lane

Dr Josef Mengele  -  Chief Surgeon
Dr Harold Shipman  - Head of Department Pastoral care
Dr Legg (Formerly Eastenders)  -  Dead legs
Dr Strangelove - Sex Therapist and light strains
    Nurse Ratchett - Prescribing nurse

Page hasn't hid away but it keeps happening each and every time he makes a comeback and if a specialist can't resolve the issues he will have to give up.

It's one thing to be physically injured but, make no mistake, the mental side of all of this will be killing him - each and every time he trots onto the pitch he hopes that he will be coming off at the end of 90 minutes or through lack of fitness not injury. Not after 12 minutes.

I had to hang my boots up at 26. I only played as an amateur but it still really hurt. For a pro, at his age, it will be the end of a way of life - and a dream that turned into a nightmare.

Absolutely gutted for him. I really hope that he’s okay and whatever this injury is, is very much precautionary.

He’s the one suffering more than anyone else here, please don’t think he’s not.

If its precautionary, after 12 minutes, wouldn't that suggest its either the same injury again or another muscular one?

Assuming he warmed up properly, I would be outraged if he didn't, that's really not good is it?
