Disgusting comment. Very similar story to ours - except it’s even worse.
By chance I received the following email from a Coventry-supporting colleague on Friday: “Just 17 years ago I was watching Coventry running out to beat Leicester in the Premier League. This weekend we play Boreham Wood in the second round of the FA Cup. Worst thing is I'm not sure it would count as much of a shock if we lost.....”
Happily for him they didn’t lose. Meanwhile my colleague would, I’m sure, be the first to wish us a double celebration next Saturday.
That’s a shocker of a comment. Their Club has been screwed over.
Clemmit said today there was only 10% capacity. Found that really sad.
I found it strange, that didn’t say what the reason why it was so low.
There isn't one specific reason though. Gates have obviously fallen due to the failures on the pitch, the massive ownership problems off it, the new(ish) ground being a bit out of the centre and desolate when empty, the unattractive cup tie, and played on Sunday...
They got 6381 last Saturday against Crawley, still terrible but a lot more than today
Their owners are complete bastards. But the Coventry fans with whom we staged joint protests last season were top blokes. They deserve a lot better, from their owners and than this kind of stupid comment.
Or just leave it as it is. Always handy to see a stupid comment to remind everyone who the morons of the site are. Although the new fiver thread probably did that on its own.
You say that elfs. There's plenty of posters on Charlton life who'd like to see other clubs go bust or plummet down the leagues. This fella it's Coventry.
Never quite understood the antipathy that some people on here have for Coventry City. I lived there for a few years in the 70's. Coventry had Wallace and Ferguson up front and were capable of beating anybody and scoring lots whilst doing it. Saw them beat Man Utd 5-4, Chelsea 5-1 and Liverpool 1-0 all in the space of a few weeks.
They had some nasty bastards supporting them but then again so did most teams.

With this fella it's those stripey c*nts.
I would not lose a single wink of sleep to see them disappear.

Out of order with Coventry, I agree.
