I appreciate the effort involved but if the sale is already close I could see this doing more harm than good, especially knowing how stubborn he can be, he’ll hold on now in spite.
It really won't. He's already said he wants out of football and he's losing millions of pounds a year on his failed experiment. He's not going to leave tens of millions of pound on the table in a deal that would get him out of having to deal with the club just because he doesn't like there being a political party set up to annoy him. Sure, he's stubborn, but no-one is to that extent.
I agree, but even still is a party set to stand for next year necessary when the club might be sold within the next few months?
I imagine if he sells they won't bother. Almost like it's supposed to hurry him along; hurry up and take the offer we know is on the table or risk the ignominy of just how badly you've treated the clubs and their fans becoming wider public knowledge. Do you wring your hand in fear this much about everything? Doing the weekly shop with you must be a nightmare
This must have been in planning for a long time. Legal advice would needed to be sought, the process investigated, applications signed off, assistance from people in Belgium sought and offered etc etc. This is a big, big, effort.
Until it is the CAFC website that we have a new owner we must assume he is staying and continue to fight him.
Great idea. Well done to all involved. I suspect a lot of time, effort and money has gone into this. Another example of how the supporters fund has been utilised to great effect for those who criticise on other media outlets.
One noticeable thing from this thread is the apparent lack of support (Davo55 aside) from CARD members. Are they smoking their pipes by the fireside contemplating a suitably loquacious response so that we can all cheer and clap?
Dont get this comment. It's not a competition mate. I support CARD, I support the B20, I support ROT, I support WAR, I support the B&W campaign. Hell I'd even support Kent CCC if it got Roland out. But most of all I support Charlton athletic, the greatest football club in the world and I want Roland out.
I'm sure the CARD ladies and Gents support this move but are simply busy with their own things, planning the Rosette protest on Saturday or maybe at the museum's event. We all want the same thing.
There is enough infighting with protesters against apologists. Let's not have competition between protest groups.

Totally agree mate - it wasnt a dig, just an observation- but i cant go as far as supporting KCCC- thats just totally unacceptable.
Fair play to ever went out there today. If the old bugger is ill. I don't give two fxxks. He wrecked my club and some quality time with my family. Charlton has changed things in my life some for the good but sometimes for a bit of disappointment. All I want is a full ground of fans united. A manager who tries and a team who put 110% effort on the pitch if we lose unlucky but if we win happy days.

Comes across as a very ‘needy’ post. Plenty of positives posted on here and I am sure many posting have, like me, supported and volunteered for CARD despite not organising anything.

I fail to see how a party whose only pledge is to see the club rid of RD will influence anything.I know, 'media interest', blah, blah, blah. The only party of any interest to me is the one that agrees to the asking price he is demanding.

Fair enough. Yeah I felt dirty saying it to be honest!
Yeah, me too. Support CARD, support B20, ROT, WAR and any other enterprising fan/group of fans looking to achieve the same goal.
We ain’t ever going to all agree together on what’s more likely to hasten the process and eventual sale.
What’s impressive is that we still have people trying, with great success, to come up with and make happen imaginative ways of making the point to Duchâtelet and his people that his ownership of the club, associated dereliction of basic duties and lack of care for the club for many fans will not, cannot ever be acceptable and the sooner a sale occurs (fingers crossed to an owner who at least has some ambition), the better for all parties involved.
It seems fitting to me that the ROT initiative was announced today and that the Rosette Protest is also close to the celebration of the return to the Valley.
Well done to all involved on both and especially to those who have devoted so much personal time to making them happen.

Thought similar, however after reading deeper into the ‘party’ website - it’s more about removing Duchätelets power from the council and returning it to ‘the ordinary people’ ... although I agree the point could and should be made a lot more and a lot clearer

Sounded like a dig. I assume it's all down to you and the B20 and now you are grand-standing? Well done whoever did it. I thought CARD was a coalition of all the protest groups, including the B20?

Well it's nice to know some actually read the website. It was only launched today. This seems to me to be a 'just in case'. You know in case he doesn't sell it all, keeps the Valley etc I love the fact that there are people out there who are covering all eventualities. Happy Smudge.

I’ve net him a couple of times and while I think he hasn’t a clue what he is doing in football, I’m glad he seems to have decided now is a good time to focus on other interests, I hope he sells soon, I do not wish him any harm. He has been quite engaging, if very misguided.

Wait until you see the full ROT party manifesto. Some dynamite stuff there, I can tell you.
Well, I for one won’t hold my breath – not because I doubt what you say about the manifesto contents, but because I would be surprised if we see the details soon.
Think about it – for regular political parties we know in broad terms what they stand for (UKIP = anti-EU, Green = pro-environment, etc.) but they keep their powder dry by not publishing their detailed manifesto until a few weeks before each election. They thereby keep open their option to react to changing circumstances, and deny their opponents the benefit of time in which to rubbish their ideas.
So, we know ROT are anti Roland & intending to embarrass him in his home town. We know STVV fans also have no love for him, and that although he has sold their club he retains Stayen where they play. Who knows – we might be in a similar position re The Valley by next October (I sincerely hope not!). But I don’t expect to know the details of ROT’s campaign issues until they start electioneering.

CARD/B20/ROT, all done a great job.

Very proud to be a Charlton fan.
