Only one song has stopped me in my tracks this year, CID RIM - Swnerve
  • Agree with a lot in the first post.
Portugal The Man - Feel It Still is definitely the one I still enjoy as much now as the first listen.
  • Kasabian is a great shout, could pick three or four from their album

Noel Gallagher Holy Mountain is pure happiness. His album is a masterpiece

Beyond that I've heard some from Stereophonics new album that have improved my life. Before anyone knew our name the most, beautiful song about nostalgia and loss
  • Not my thing at all but I can’t get Rita Ora - Anywhere, out of my head.

Everything Now - Arcade Fire An absolutely fantastic song and after checking my i-tunes purchases one of only four new songs from 2017 that I purchased. The others were, in no particular order:

Man Behind the Sun - Callum Beattie
    Sony - TLC
Testify - Hifi Sean Ft Crystal Waters (Edit- Just seen this was actually a 2016 release)

I don't buy many new tunes so I guess I rated all of these but Everything Now is the best new song I have heard in years, maybe since You Get What You Give by the New Radicals in 1999.

  • Amy Beach - Wind o'the Westland
  • No shouts for BBC Music's artist of 2017, Stormzy?

    Shut up!

That moment when chickens come home to roost....

"The see maybe so, but you spelt everything else correct apart from well that was just you being illiterate."

  • some good ones above, liking Before Anyone Knew Our Name (Stereophonics) and Goose Snow Cone (Aimee Mann) in particular.
    Another couple of crackers are,

Something To Remember Me By - The Horrors
What A Shame - Tom Williams ......... (who happens to hail from Kent)
  • Thought the Kasabian one was awful and I’m usually a fan. Loved that arcade fire one instantly, great tune. And all the stuff from the Gallaghers. Seems like they’re back to their best
  • Found this ridiculously catchy and was our family’s summer holiday song...

  • Stick Stick Stick song is the best by a mile this year
