6 year contract is amazing! Seems him and Taylor gone backwards in terms of career but not bank balance. That’s all that matters hey guys ?!?!

To be fair to grant, he did go up a level and was playing for a relegated team. Maybe he is a championship player. if given game time in the championship, for a team near the top of the league, he will score goals

Defoe scores again for RANGERS as they beat Aberdeen and go the whole league season unbeaten  .. BUT the point of my post is mainly that Aribo was shown lining up at left back
  • So this midweek

    Championship
Taylor scores twice for Forest (incl a typical Lyle Taylor penalty)
Magennis scores (and misses a penalty in Nicky Bailey style)
    Grant scores
    Bauer scores

    L1
    Bonne scores

    L2
Williams scores a 25 yard screamer
    Lapslie scores

Struggle to picture what Williams shooting that far out looks like.

Imagine a garden gnome gliding forward unmarked and looking like he's leant too far back but boom - straight on the postage stamp.

Good goal though one couldn't exactly describe it as a "rocket" not that matters. Hopefully he will become a favourite at Swindon and it might just be that he needs to be a "big fish in a small pond" playing at a level below his ability in order to shine.
  • Mansfield are currently winning 2-1 against Hartlepool. George Lapslie has scored his 4th goal of the season for Mansfield and Josh Umerah found the back of the net one minute after coming on as sub for Hartlepool for his 4th of the season too.

Good to see that they are both carving some sort of career in the Football League especially in the case of Umerah who has worked his way back up from non league. Although if he wants to stay at that level he might have to move as Hartlepool are rock bottom.
  • Lapslie has had a very good start to the season. My impression is that last season he didn't start every game, whereas this year he's been one of their key players

  • I always try to look out for George's appearances & of course, his goals.

    Ditto with Darren Pratley.

Both in teams looking promising  for a top 6 in L2 although early days, of course.
  • Lapslie was substituted in the 83rd minute for Mansfield and Umerah scored his second since coming on in the 87th to equalise for Hartlepool from being 2-0 down prior to his intervention.
  • Finished 2-2. Mansfield had 7 shots on target and Hartlepool's only ones were Umerah's 2 goals.

    JU scored the equaliser too.
  • Hartlepool have scored 8 goals this season and Umerah has 5 of them. That rather begs the question as to why he was on the subs bench in the first place.

I always thought Umerah had more promise than Hanlan when they were coming through the youth teams together. Interesting to see Umerah is making his way back up the pyramid after a few years out. Meanwhile, Hanlan isn't playing Wycombe this season. Not sure if he's injured...
  • Only a loanee, but Paul Smyth at Orient is another having a very good season. It's debatable whether DJ, who we paid a fee for, has been much of an upgrade

Not ex players “scoring” but thought this thread made most sense instead of making a new one for ex players conceding.

Lavelle and Clare arguably were both responsible for goals in the Carlisle 1-1 Wigan result on Tuesday night.

Reeco Hackett-Fairchild scored a very good goal on Tuesday. He's at Lincoln now.

Lavelle - dives in to get the ball and doesn’t get it, allows Wyke in on goal as a result

Clare - not alive to the runner next to him, allows the bloke to get to the ball first and tucks away the rebound
