Why do they bother with floodlights if they go off for bad light anyway?

    What is the point?

Can’t see the light improving much as it has been like this all day so far.

Covers are coming back on now but no rain.
  • Pathetic Leics 49-9

Isn't the point of them to assist the natural light, rather than replace it? Certainly with the red ball
  • Leics 101-9 so the last pair have put on more for the last wicket than the previous 9 managed in total.

If they are still off at 2:50 pm tea will be taken.

I think we know they will be....

    Leicestershire have crept to 128-9
  • Leics 133 all out

It really is difficult to fathom how conditions change so much from a top 8 can making just 32 between them to two tailenders amassing 80.
  • Somerset 28-5 chasing 78 to win at Taunton

That makes our game look like a high scoring match!

No more play today from Canterbury.
  • Is Canterbury always like this, or has it been a particularly bad year for drizzly rain there, when compared to the rest of the country? The T20s were badly affected by the weather

I believe the Slurrey Lifers have put a curse on the ground.....

    Northants all out 105

    Kent 61-2 lead 93
  • Now 99-2, I imagine batting conditions are easier. Losing a day yesterday makes things tricky in terms of how many runs we need

I'd tentatively say we need to be looking to set 300 plus. Maybe look to declare with half an hour or so to go in the hope of a wicket or two tonight and a couple more in the aftermath of a 10:30 am start tomorrow.

This is Kent so best laid plans of mice and men and all that!

    We might collapse after lunch.
