Podmore on a hat-trick.0 -
Great decision to field first
We really need some batting points as well, Sussex are above us as they have 14 more batting points!1 -
No hat trick for Podmore, but he has picked up another.
119/7.1 -
The final "proper" batsman as wellAddickted2TheReds said:No hat trick for Podmore, but he has picked up another.
119/7.0 -
149-80

Chappell retires hurt, so Leicestershire are essentially 9 down.0
-

It seems to be concussion.
Chappell is being substituted for the rest of the match - meaning an 11th player will come out to bat.2 -
He's one of their bowlers too, I assume they can't bring in a new bowler?Addickted2TheReds said:It seems to be concussion.

I see DBD has bowled an over, Kent must be getting desperate1
-
2 wickets for Thomas after tea.
Leicestershire 220 all out.2 -
53-3
Not much chance of batting points again0 -
no further play (due to bad light I assume)
Meanwhile Sussex finish at 400-7 while Warks bowl out Gloucs for 127 and finish at 171-20 -

Noticed we got 6 leg byes in our innings.
How?
Buzzers? Straight off the helmet and over the ropes?0 -
I must be the only that finds this strange haha.Addickted2TheReds said:Noticed we got 6 leg byes in our innings.

Quarter final tickets purchased!1

I suspect that they ran 2 leg byes with another four over throws. Here's 7 leg byes resulting from a ball delivered by Graham Dilley and overthrows from John Emburey.Addickted2TheReds said:

There's no mention of this in the Day 1 report on Cricinfo (the report on the Kent website is basically the same, word for word).Addickted2TheReds said:

If the ball hit the helmet it would have been five penalty runs and dead ball.
Denly faced that delivery (the last of the over) and Bilbo the next so the only way it could have happened would be for the batsmen to have run two with four overthrows.
Unless, of course, Joe volleyed the ball over the rope ...0 -
Talking about extras - we are currently 77-3 and top score is extras with 21.0
-
We shall be going to the Ball on Thursday !2
-
I umpired yesterday and the opposition keeper managed to let the ball hit the helmet off not one but two balls resulting in 10 penalty runs. That I have never witnessed in one innings before.Briston_Addick said:

I bet Dilley was relieved that was leg byes and not runs!Addick Addict said:
