It isn't the worst thing you can do on the pitch. Breaking someone's leg is up there...maybe breaking their neck worse idk. Love it when the CL Law & Order brigade mobilise. Reminds me of the shrieking demands to have Suarez 'put down' for biting. It's weird and gross and deserves a ban, that's all.

The Leuth "I know better than all of you" movement is just as tedious when it mobilises.

If you read the comments you'll see that everyone is suggesting that this prick who spat should get a ban, so not sure what the point is you are trying to make.
  • Ten-game ban, punched and thrown into the crowd, tasered? Admittedly the tasering bit was originally about people who spit at cops. But yeah.
  • Arthur Masuaku

Sounds like a small vegetarian meal

Funny thing is he’d probably call for a 100 game ban if a player used a racial slur.

The scum bag deserves a hefty ban for not having the bottle to give someone a dig, spitting is cowardly and disgusting.

    Year ban
  • I remember when Alan Pardew got sent off for spitting.
  • When was that?

    Who, Leuth?

    Definitely.
  • I remember when Alan Pardew got sent off for spitting.

Wasn't Paul Miller sent off for the same? At Newcastle?

  • In hampshire the police now carry those spit hoods. The liberal correct squad are against it as they say it humiliates them. Simple don't be a dirty bastard then.

Yes and if I remember correctly he was released by Charlton soon after.

Indeed at home at sellout park, don't think he played again.
  • It is disgusting and if true he deserves what he gets.
I would rather someone throw a punch at me rather than spit at me.
No respect for people who spit at other people.

I have had this happen to me on a couple of occasions.....went ballistic each time.
Agree I would rather have someone take a man to man swing at me than being spat at.
Think of coppers who have this done to them from time to time.....must be sickening for them with one hand tied behind their back and not being able to retaliate.
My nephew is an ambulance man and says it's a regular thing at weekends.
Never had anyone spit at me, but I have been lucky. We are issues with "spit kits" that enables us to collect DNA evidence so the Police can prosecute them when found.

    Bristol City away.
  • Is it any worse than tongues though?

Should these two have got a lengthy ban for sucking face?

  • Personally think it's disgusting and you deserve any ban you get. Obviously it's not the worst thing that can happen on a football pitch but that doesn't make it OK.

One of the biggest injustices ever, gets spat on and is sent off and then Rijkaard spits on him again as they walk off.

If I spat on you in the street I'd be ever so thankful for you bringing no charges against me and insisting that a simple few days ban from work would suffice. On full pay of course.

    That'd teach me.

Isn't the point that he "spat at" rather than "spat on" Powell? Still disgusting and worthy of a ban but not as bad imho

    Is that the point?

The spit hit the Wigan player so the spitting at most certainly became spitting on.

Also, if you spit at a player then the intention is to spit on the player otherwise you're not actually spitting at anyone as you're directing the spit at something else.

    Away to Bristol City 1991
  • I see West Ham are speaking to the PFA as they want to fine him more than the 2 weeks wages allowed
  • I see West Ham are speaking to the PFA as they want to fine him more than the 2 weeks wages allowed seem to be heavily punishing him yet secretly hope that as a result they will not issue a heavy ban

I recall Lennie Lawrence's recation when Paul Miller spat at a player! It is true he never played for us again.
  • I see West Ham are speaking to the PFA as they want to fine him more than the 2 weeks wages allowed

Credit to West Ham for that then
