It is crazy that there is only one promotion place. Maybe there should be a play off between second from botton in the top league and the second in the championship.
I'm hearing talk that Wolves had decided not to accept promotion if they had edged Forest out (i.e. they didn't fill in the licensing paperwork and weren't going to switch to paying players at least 18 hours a week). Which is something they're entitled to do, but it seems they'd neglected to tell the players. If that's true, it really out of order.

Wow. I've no idea why a club would do that. Quite apart from anything else some of the players will have been worrying about whether they could afford to sign Championship contracts with the minimum 18 hours a week commitment or if they'd need to leave. Now they find out that wasn't an issue.
I know we complain about the size of our budget and the difficulty of competing with much bigger setups, but we're a League 1 club and they're Premier League; they ought to be able to cope with the budget requirements.
Looks like it is Nottingham Forest and Ipswich next season. Sheffield United already down (is the last spot between Blackburn/Portsmouth), and Palace will be joining from WSL.
If Birmingham beat LCL they go up (if not LCL go), otherwise it as you were for 25/26.

No, only 1 down. The other spot was taken by Reading's demotion and drop to tier 5 before the season started.
More and more PL teams getting their women's teams closer to WSL, LCL and ourselves will be real outliers if we get promoted in the next couple of years
I really wonder if the time has come for a change of manager and coaches. The tatics haven't worked for the two seasons at The Valley.
Ipswich and Nottingham Forest have won promotion with decent signings and attacking football. The championship will be very competitive next season.
Nearly did last year, and this year behind 2 massive spenders who are running on WSL level budgets
When you look at the league table we drew too many games where the tactics of playing out from goal kicks, passing across the back and playing down the wings didn't work.
Those on the touchline didn't change things when it was obviously going wrong.

Is that a playing personnel problem or a coaching one though? Maybe if we'd signed a couple of higher quality players who were equipped to play the style Hills wants then we would have turned some of those draws into wins.

The manager has to get the best out of the squad they have.

Which I’d say she has on the whole
The table shows she hasn't. She hasn't made sensible use of the successful academy team. Siber only used when it was too late.

League tables don't show the quality of your manager or your squad but a combo of the two. I agree she's been too stubborn but really the glaring error relates to Siber who is one player in the squad
If we're only looking at the table for how well she's done I think it could be argued she has actually done well. I'd be surprised if LCL, Birmingham and Newcastle all don't have much larger budgets than us.
I would agree with Siber not being used enough and some of the subs in general not being early enough or proactive enough.
I've seen some of the really positive academy results but don't know enough about the players coming through to know who should have been given opportunities. Would be interested to know who you think should have been given some games.
Central midfield for me is definitely somewhere we need to be looking to upgrade this summer. Filis on the whole has not been great, Bradley has been inconsistent, and too often we've been dominated in that area which has led to us having no control of the game.
I'm not sure how many injuries other teams have had but it does feel like we've had more than normal this season. All in all to be third given some of the resources other teams in the league have I would say is a decent performance.

The problem is that the club does very little to give any information on the academy squad. I asked several times for details of the under 21 players to added to the website. This finally happened.
Recently X/Twitter has given scorers and results from their games.
I was told the budget has money for 2 media people to cover the team but only one is in post.
Transgender women will no longer be able to play in women's football in England from 1 June, the Football Association has announced.
English football's governing body amended its rules last month, applying stricter eligibility criteria for transgender women to continue playing in women's football.
Following the UK Supreme Court's ruling that the legal definition of a woman is based on biological sex, the FA has scrapped that policy and banned transgender women from participating in women's football.

Stupid decision, but made by the right organisation.
I'm my view, each sport should make its own decisions and rulings on this issue, as there are so many differences between sports. It shouldn't be decided by government, imposing a decision on all sports, from above.
So it's to be applauded that the FA has been allowed to make its own decision and timing; but in my view the decision is worrying, wrong, harmful and fraught with unintended consequences.

It must be the right logical decision, imo. Any sport that depends upon physical attributes should be single sex. End of.

"End of"?
Isn't there a little bit more to it than that? For example, now, for the first time ever, a woman may be required to "prove" that she's a biological woman in order to play. What's the process for that? How does it get judged? Who judges it? When? How?
And, does the ruling allow - or even require - that transmen who play football, to be allowed to play women's football? That is, a biological woman, who has undergone gender reassignment, taken male hormone medication, become significantly more muscular and grown a beard, then that person is free to play women's football? Is that what everyone wants?
Intersex people have been completely left out of the conversation too.
People saying 'we can all move on now' have as little understanding of the complexity of the situation than the Supreme Court, which didn't even bother to consult some of the people it would directly effect.
Is there any chance this particular discussion could move to its own thread? As the BBC article says, the number of trans footballers at any level in the professional game in the UK is precisely zero, and there are only a handful registered as amateurs. I have my own views on this issue, particularly in relation to recreational sport and encouraging participation, but Charlton's women's team is a full-time professional outfit and this issue has nothing to do with us whatsoever.
