Do you have to complete the signup process for your selection to count?
    You do, yes.

In other news, the proposed changes to the FA Cup, including seeding teams, have been dropped (for now at least)

Life President of the Women's Team Alan Watts died in 2020.

Those who saw Alan at women's game would know that whenever they scored he would ring his bell.

Today Sue Prior brought a wealth of CAFC Women's items (medals, pennants, trophies  programmes, etc) into the museum but for me this was the stand out piece.

I remember asking him about the origin of the bell, at an away game maybe 10 or so years ago. He said it went back to the time when he used to be the only person going to away games and he'd started ringing it so the players would hear a reaction in the crowd when they scored and know there was someone there.

I started going to the occasional away game just after the team had their funding cut and he was certainly the only one there at that time. I don't know exactly when he started - my first game we lost something like 7-0 so if the bell was there it didn't get used!

    Eh?

From some of the comments earlier on this thread, 3 of those 4 nominations are very surprising.

Club of the year is only valid one.

Nice interviews with Karen Hills and Gillian Kenney after the Ipswich draw. Karen’s happy with the draw as it keeps the unbeaten run going and Gillian seems like she’s a good, positive character.
Also, Gillian does a strange thing where she looks directly at the camera when she’s answering a question! Quite unnerving!

Anyone know if there is any way to watch the game today on tv or online?
The last round wasn’t available anywhere which was frustrating anyway, but more so seeing as we scored 10 times!

Don’t believe we were selected for TV

    No, I realise that.
But frustratingly, the WSL YouTube channel doesn’t show FA cup games so even though all league games are available on there, the FA cup games aren’t.
I was just wondering if anyone had found an alternative online option, that’s all.

No the TV rights stop it and there isn’t the demand there is in the men’s version where it’s randomly on in Canada

Someone might want to tell whoever is in charge of the clubs X account as they've just said team news at 2:15!

I'd hope we know who's playing 15 minutes into the game

Nice to make 10 changes and still be so strong
  • Now put out another post saying 1:15, even though the team post is still up, as is the 2:15 one.

  • The 1:15 team news is out and it's the same as the original. I'm looking forward to the 2:15 post

Beautiful day in Oxford. Good crowd, and a decent number of Charlton fans here.

Wasn't expecting 10 changes, but happy that Bissell and Lockwood are starting.

0-0 at HT. How we playing?

Not great. A couple of good chances that could have been scored but we haven't given their keeper anything difficult to do. Pedersen made the best save of the first half.

Nice to see Thestrup taking her chance then

Should be home and hosed against a side like Oxford. Too many changes and we've made a right mess of it

  • Triple substitution bringing on the first choice attacking lineup. In case anyone thought the performance was due to not fancying more fixture congestion.
  • Crowd announced as 1185.
