Brilliant, well done Girls!0

The women's game has come on so much. I am very impressed with it. But there is a desperate need for keeper coaching as our second proves. But it is a weakness evident at the high end of the game too. The FA should put a lot or resources into this and it will give us a real advantage. Would be surprised if Neville hasn't latched onto this easy win. I'd be looking for reasonably tall ex Gymnasts as a starting point.

I’m not sure there are any reasonably tall ex gymnasts....2

Aly Raisman, at 5'2", is one of the tallest female gymnasts on Team U.S.A., a height that leaves her practically towering over teammates like Simone Biles, who according to NBC is 4'8" — which makes her the shortest U.S. athlete, but still gives her a few inches over 16-year-old, 4'4" Brazilian gymnast Flavia Lopes ..Alwaysneil said:I’m not sure there are any reasonably tall ex gymnasts....
... Perhaps netball or rowing?0 -

Yes, they would be the girls who grew too much so would be looking for a new discipline. Not sure given the age they start how you can know how tall they will end up!0

Glad you posted that as shows there are good keepers in the women's game.ross1 said:
OK maybe not in the same league as Karius but decent shot stoppers.0 -
Perhaps Lee Turner assists with coaching or do the women's team have their own coach?0
-
The womens team have their own coaches. Riteesh is Head coach, James Marrs and Josh Oatham also coaches. Webbo helps out to and Daniel Smith is goalkeeper coach .ross1 said:Perhaps Lee Turner assists with coaching or do the women's team have their own coach?
Katie Startup is actually on loan from Chelsea, just like the mens side Chelsea have a lot of players.1 -
Probably a bit unfair for female goalkeepers that the goal size is the same as in the men's game, it does make it harder to cover all of it.0

How does the woman's game sustain itself?0

It doesn't, requires cash injection from owners generally.smudge7946 said:How does the woman's game sustain itself?

And as for salaries, you have to be playing for one of the huge teams. I play a social kickabout every Saturday with a girl who was offered a contract at Villa, and it isn't financially viable for her, so she decided to just play football for fun instead.smudge7946 said:How does the woman's game sustain itself?
She's one of the top 5-7 of the players I play with (all the others are men) to be fair. And by play with, I mean the sport of football before you say anything disgusting.0 -
