Flannery starts for England U23 against Norway tonight
Played in central midfield. If only she could play there on Sunday instead of out wide (if she even gets on the pitch).

More injuries: Johnston (presumably the shoulder injury at Palace) and Cissoko out, with both expected to be "back before the end of the year".

    What a pointless sentence

Charlton Athletic can confirm that Grace Johnston and Hawa Cissoko have both sustained injuries and will be out for a period of time.

Genuinely unbelievable that the challenge on Cissoko wasn't a red. I'm not her biggest fan but she could miss a couple of months of football for a reckless uncontrolled tackle that didn't even see the person who did it miss the rest of that game. And yet Neville missed 3 games for a clash of hips.

Away tickets for Birmingham at St Andrews and West Ham at Dagenham are now on sale at the usual place. Birmingham ticket prices are as expected, West Ham are cheaper than I'd guessed at £10 adult, £8 over-66 or under-21, £1 under-18. The wheelchair places are the same price as the others for the same age group.

At a glance it looks like we've been allocated 300 by Birmingham and 100 by West Ham.

Are you sure the Players Cup tickets are free with the season ticket this season? When I asked at the ticket office, I was told they weren't and have bought seats in my season ticket seat, which should not be possible if it's included?

Nice of them to charge me twice. I will be getting them refunded on Sunday.

Here's a very good indicator of where a lot of our struggles lie:

Hills wants the team to press high and cause problems for teams trying to play out the back but we almost never press in a way that wins the ball and leads to attempts on goal. Birmingham and Palace are both doing the same sort of thing, because that's what you have to do when you're unable to bring in the level of quality needed to survive in the league, but they're doing it more efficiently than anyone else in the division. Obviously the likes of Brighton and Arsenal aren't even trying to do that, they're trying to control the ball, but we are and we're really poor at it. There's a severe lack of pace in our team and a lack of ability to push players up onto defenders, move as a unit to force teams back and then quickly carve out an opportunity if we do pick the ball off. January really needs to see is bring in some more athleticism into the team in attack and midfield

And that is terrible defending. What have we been doing in the international break?

Not bad for what must be about Davidson’s 5th kick for Charlton. I don’t know how Fitzgerald did that but it was incredible

All comes from that heavy touch from Neville. She’s getting murdered by Medina as it is but can’t be giving the ball away needlessly there

Hutton needed to shoot earlier there

Not the worst half ever. We’ve actually passed the ball better than we have in ages and we’ve played our way out of some tight spots. Utd aren’t actually very good, they’re not snapping into us, they’re quite easy to dribble round and we’re winning a surprising number of tackles. Where they are good is in the final third and they’ve done us with some very good tight passes in behind the defence a few times. They’ve also capitalised twice on us not clearing our lines properly.

Despite that though we got a good goal off what was as far as I can tell Fitzgerald phasing through time and space to break away down the left. We then had a couple of breaks we didn’t capitalise on, one where Hutton was too far behind play for Fitz to put her in before getting tackled and one where the pass in behind was cut out. There’s definitely counters on when they give up the ball in the middle which they will continue to do. We just have to defend better when Utd attack. Neville is having a horror show against Medina today unfortunately. Korhonen is playing much better, she’s got good feet but she’s just a little bit too slow. If only this team had some pace in it

The goal we scored was the best team goal have scored this season.

We actually look okay going forward
I would love to see us push more players forward

Clearly we can't defend,  so stop setting up that way and let's see how we do at trying to outscore opponents
