Stephy Malvididi - On Loan from Woolwich Arsenal They have not been called that for over 103 years!
My dad used to call them that, along with Clapham (sic) Orient, but that was in the 1940s so he had a bit more excuse.
You must be incredibly old, Henry. Who do you fancy for the Cup this year, Blackburn Olympic?
Seriously, thanks for the useful update.
Curious we have only one specialist right-back out of both the First and u23 squads, and his fitness is always precarious.
Yes, though hopefully Konsa and Dijksteel will provide adequate support for the rest of the season. Definitely something that needs to be reevaluated in the summer.
We lost Barnes this window, but it's clear that he was considered a long way off from first team quality. Yao has played there for the U23s and is considered to have a brighter future anyway, so in desperate times he may be able to make the step up, or Marshall might be able to play there as he played wingback against Oxford in the cup and did alright I thought. Plus we still have RCC to come back from injury and he has also played there as cover.
In League One you're always going to have deficiencies. I think right back is a good one to have aw we have a lot of players who could cover there in an emergency. Obviously Solly and Konsa could get hurt tomorrow and we'd be in serious trouble, but you can only mitigate for so much.
National League South is a bit disappointing, Chelmsford is quite near his brother though, who plays for Colchester!
He looked a bit light against Blackpool, hopefully that level will toughen him up a bit
James Ward-Prowse (Southampton) secretly trained with Havant & Waterlooville at that level when he was coming through for that very reason, hopefully work as well for Lapslie
