With the supposedly imminent departure of RD, here are some cryptic clues , all of which are associated with his tenure.
None of them are players or managers.
Say, among other things, can mean an example of.

Good luck…

(i) Experts take exam (8)

(ii) Master goes to bed with head teacher (7)

(iii) Have a whisky, say, before Ascot (5,3,5)

(iv) Beginnings down under; Charlton have asked to extend loans, except Tarique's (10)

(v) God loses direction, but gets the general idea (9)

(vi) Fiat 500 (4)

    Ah, there you are Lawrie…

(iv) Duchatelet: 'Beginnings' simply signifies the first letter of the following text.

(vi) Fiat is a Car and D is latin for 500

    (v) God is Apollo, losing direction - left - Apolo, general idea, gist

    Well done.

Some of you are far too clever. I just stare at them. Nearest I’ve got to an answer is Fiat 500, and I’m fairly sure the answer is not Italian monkey

I've just realised I haven't put the number of letters in the answers. If you're unfamiliar with cryptic crosswords they must seem nonsensical, but hopefully seeing the explanations of the answers might make them a little clearer...

Horses for courses; I feel the same when visiting finance or IT threads.

  • I got (when I say got, I mean guessed at) Card and Apologist, but wasn't brave enough to post in case they were completely wrong.

You're on the right tracks; but the whisky comes before Ascot. Stole is also close, see Addicted's answer.

You're missing one word that appears a couple of posts earlier...
  • Black and white scarf would be 5,3,5,5. Is it that?

It is, Thai. I mucked up the number of letters in the clue, I'm afraid...
Black & White is a whisky, Ascot is a type of scarf.
  • May I add another six clues? Possibly a bit easier, but they always look easy when you set them.

    1. A tinker becomes an executive. (7)

    2. Sound like up to now it might be comfortable. (4)

    3. Governmental Department entraps the Queen. (9)

    4. Keyboard is not in the office! (6,3)

    5. To be different, I trust Millwall's ground. (2, 7)

    6. Start with irrational number of bottomless dumplings and end up with nothing. (9)

    6. Pinocchio

Although it should be endless instead of bottomless.
