Cheapest guaranteed snow

We've not had enough snow round our way to build snowmen, go sledging etc since the year before my eldest was born. I feel like they are missing out, so if we still get any by next winter time, was considering a snow holiday.

However, anywhere with skiing is expensive (and as we now have to go in school holidays, prices are crazy anyway!) and there aren't many 'guaranteed' snow type places that don't have skiing.

Any ideas of where I may be able to get a cheap non skiing snow holiday? Or am I best of just considering Loch Ness in January and hoping for the best?

Cheers - first one was more like what I kept finding, ski resorts also good for non skiiers, whereas I'd rather a (cheaper) non ski resort, but the second link is a bit more promising!

Plenty of sites out there either dedicated to ski/non ski split holidays and the same for purely non skiers.

When I was in the forces we used to go skiing in Aviemore but if I remember rightly there was loads of sledge slopes & general playing around in the snow going on away from the slopes.
Am sure it was from Edinburgh station direct to Aviemore.
May be of use?

The train goes direct from kings Cross or if you're feeling adventurous the night train from Euston. The Aviemore highland resort is great for kids.

Austria can be cheaper than you expect, especially if you stay away from the most popular ski villages. And the service is always top notch. Nearly every Czech skier I know goes to Austria rather than their own ski "resorts" because, they say the Czech ones are Austrian prices, Czech service...

My niece also recently skied for the first time, weekend in Munich, train ride to the ski resort.
