Out of interest, why do so many people (most fans, local commentators, Charlton Live broadcasters) say 'MaGUINNESS' rather than 'MaGENNIS'?

Genuine question; does he actually pronounce the last 2 syllables the same as a well known Irish stout?

Yes, I'm sad and need to get out more; but I rank it alongside 'PWR' in terms of letting it really wind me up.
