    Great day on The Valley turf. And good session upstairs afterwards.

    I'd never before played in front of 26,000 empty seats.

    It was never a penalty Ref, he dived.. If only VAR was around back then..... Great day though.

    @Oggy Red I don't believe for a second that CL had 1000 spectators!

    In a similar way I should send in the programme from when CIFC - (the unofficial supporters team - but helped by the club with kit etc) - hosted a tournament against numerous other supporters club teams for the British Heart Foundation. We put the whole thing on for the BHF to commemorate one of our players who had died suddenly from heart failure - he was around 18 at the time.

    @AFKABartram @Riscardo @razil @quintusboss and others all played that day - was a lot of fun and a heck of a lot of organization

    Played in that 2 days after being discharged from hospital after having a plate put in my arm.
    Made sure I claimed a long sleeve shirt in case the ref objected to my cast.
    Was a good day and night.

    A while later I think it was on a look-a-like thread, there was a pic of one of the players and Jeremy fisher which was a proper almost ‘snot over my desk trying to conceal laughter’ incident as I viewed it in work.

    Joma boots as sold in the club shop that very morning.
    @DaveStorry it was purely a tactical substitution. ;)

    One of the greatest games ever seen at The Valley. :wink:

    Sorry PBS, that was my fault. Annoyingly, the link to said picture of @Charltonparklane is broken now, which is a shame cos it was a particularly impressive jump I thought.

    Oh go on then!! :-)

    I meant to post this up on the 10th anniversary, but somehow forgot :-(

    If anyone wants to look, either just the goal from Match 1, (I wonder who scored that belter?);

    https://youtube.com/watch?v=ci8Md7z8Qa0

    Or if you have a strong disposition, 55 mins of the game;

    https://youtube.com/watch?v=RLbI9enzGaM&t=16s

    I hope the links work.

    I’m gonna have to watch the whole match later (sad git)
    I’ve still got the hump the ref/Lino cancelled out a legitimate goal (for WSS?) that I set up iirc
    So will be going to VAR to review it

    Well, last night I watched it the way through!

    Let's say, it was entertaining.
    (can't understand why most of my MoM performance has been edited out?)

    Was that at Coldharbour? If so, I played that day and also turned out for Manchester City - scoring a hat trick in the process. Sadly 2 were disallowed after dubious offside calls. But the one that stood was a bullit header - one of the finest goals seen at the venue.

    Don’t think I played, serious knee injury for most of the cifc era, the rest I was chronically unfit and chronically untalented..

    dodgy ref disallowing the 2nd goal for no reason , don't think it was WSS but no.7 who had it taken from him

    He's never got over the fact he was subbed off to be replaced by little ol me...
