My Dad (sadly a departed Charlton fan) used to tell a lovely story about her when he was a butcher at Harrods. She would come in and order a single lamb chop - for delivery - just so the neighbours could see the Harrods van pull up outside her house. Was a lovely, friendly lady, apparently. RIP.
RIP. My memory could be playing tricks but amongst her many TV accomplishments I think she advertised Oxo gravy back in the sixties as part of a family set up rather like the late Lynda Bellingham some years later with Bisto.
