Players you underestimated when they signed...

Johnnie Jackson. Average left back who was one of those many mercenary loans dealt to Parky. Couldn't even get into the team at Notts County.
"After this, he featured in the first team until he was dropped from the squad against Grimsby Town on 17 February 2010, as he was loaned out to Charlton Athletic." - wiki
246 appearances and 51 goals, title winning captain, PFA team of the year. Didn't see that coming.

Now has been sackedStig said:I was worried when Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink signed, that he might be a disinterested, overweight has-been looking for one final payout. How wrong I was. An who'd have thought that after a glittering career with us he'd go on to be the greatest manager in Northampton's history? Oh.

Graham Stuart was a underwhelming signing but how wrong was I did really well for us.6

Dean Kiely4

Stuart fleetwood, Dorian smith.4

Yes, known only for being the York keeper who helped beat Man Utd.Callumcafc said:Dean Kiely

When we signed Traore from Liverpool I thought he'd be a liability but I underestimated just how shocking he was.12
-
Radostin Kishishev. He was initially played at right back where he was all over the place and did not look good at all.6

Who could forget Paulo Monteiro0

This. Fosu stunned me. I was sure we brought him in as a development player.Pelling1993 said:You show me someone who predicted how good Fosu would turn out to be, and i'll show you a liar

First I heard of him was when my work mate berated me for us having stolen him. He said he was a real talent, and I think I passed that on, on here?0 -

Easy question for me. Yann.0

That is a good point, we weren't over excited at first but it didn't take long!0

No, I am sorry. That is unacceptable.bolloxbolder said:Harry Cripps, Colin Pates, Mark Bowen, Andy Hunt, Keith Jones.

I didn’t think Bent would cut it in the Prem.
Turned out pretty wrong on that one2 -
Paul Williams. Sure he was playing non-league.1
-
Deon Burton
Led the line brilliantly in L1, if we had been able to sign BWP a year earlier than we did, that would have been a great partnership8 -
David Whyte. Was it him and the deity known as Morts we got for Pitcher? Brilliant, brilliant player.1
-
Sweaty Balmer , scored own goals in his first two games but went on to become a great player for us6
-
Yes, definitely - there are quite a few when you put your mind to it. Probably warns us not to judge too early!0

I remember when we signed Simon Webster, in those pre-internet days one of the only things that we knew about him, was that he was part of the Huddersfield back four that lost 10-0 to Man City - when Man City were shit house and had players like Jeff Whitley and Steve Redmond playing for them.
Consequently I was a little underwhelmed by his signing, but he proved to be a fantastic player for us, and would have had a good career in the PL had he not been 'done' by Julian Dicks.4
