The warm up week before the Tour started with a time trial prologue today.

No Froome, so Geraint Thomas taking the lead for Sky in the GC this year.

He crashed half way round, ( no change then for GT), yet still managed to finish within 20 seconds of the leader despite having to change bikes.

Looking forward to the next seven days as should be a fascinating race with a couple of days on the same course as the Tour and at least six different riders in with a chance of the GC, including the Brits, GT and Adam Yates.

    It'll be interesting to see how Adam Yates gets on. He's already raced after his injury layoff, and might be one to watch.

    todays stage looks like its going to be a lot like yesterdays. hopefully as scenic. some really nice fortifications on hills and by rivers yesterday. anyway, think it will end as a bunch group by the end. unless sky let a breakaway go but rarely does that happen. tbf most of the riders are still too close to GC after 1 stage to let a breakaway get to far up the road.

    Pity about the crash yesterday, Thomas could have already built up a good lead.

    Will be interesting to see how it affects him ... Kwiatkowski may have to take the lead role.

    another crash today this time involving just Kwiatkoski the race leader. was inside the last 3 km so gets the same time but he looks a bit beaten up. Impey who won yesterday and finished third today is now the race leader due to time bonuses.

    35km TTT today.

    Get the feeling SKY may just smash it for Thomas (23 seconds off Yellow) & Kwiatkoski (2 seconds off yellow) who appeared to have just superficial damage after his crash on the roundabout.

    Michleton-Scott will try and push it for Yates (23 seconds off yellow) before the next four days in the Alps.

    Just caught up with yesterday. Wow, Sky occupy the top four spots.

    Ominous with the TTT returning for the Tour ... the organisers may be regretting it now :smiley:

    Another amazing team performance by SKY yesterday. They are blowing the other teams out of the park and I can see them getting a 1-2-3 on Sunday.

    And to think only maybe three of this team will be in their TDF line up.

    Just watched the stage from yesterday ... another great team performance by Sky.

    Provided he doesn’t crash yet again, Thomas must have a great chance.

    More proof that Moscon has a terrific career to come.

    What with him and Egan Bernal, Sky have a very interesting future.

    Good ride by Thomas yesterday to take the yellow, Yates up to 6th.

    Dan Martin was excellent, good to see him get a stage win after such a long time.

    Not nice tactics from French team, Agr2R La Mondiale trying to take advantage of Thomas's two punctures to give Bardet a chance to nick the win.

    SKY will be all out now to destroy them in Le Tour.

    Tao Geoghegan Hart won that for Sky, emmense riding and effort in the mountains. The guy is a beast.

    If you think he's talented, wait until you see Tom Pidcock. Best rider since Peter Sagan, with just as much all round talent, along with the ability to TT

    Pidcock has a way to go yet - he's only 18.

    Geoghegan Hart came of age in the last week and to think he won't even be in the SKY train for the Tour. He had a fantastic week and turned into the super domestique for Thomas which was unexpected.

    I'm sure he'll be there to support Froome in the Vuelta and is definitely one for the future.

    Indeed, and his cyclocross skills make him an amazing handler of a bike.

    He did great work for Bernal in California.

    The Vuelta will be his next big aim and will be interesting as, up till now, his longest race has been 9 days.
