  • He may not like football but failure will hurt his ego.  I hope it continues.

    They got a shithouse
We got one of the hardest working, honest midfielders outside the Premier League.
    Welcome to big school Ben.

Taylor hands on hips 2nd half blowing out of arse , looks unfit to me.
That's what you get for sitting on your arse for weeks on end when you should've been playing. Oh no, how sad.

Taylor won't care. He'll go to sleep tonight on a bed full of cash and his favourite photo of himself on the pillow
    That made me smile 😃

I also wonder if playing with no fans in the  stadium doesn't help him. He never took the field for us after lockdown so he's probably not used to it & he does like to wind up the opposition fans.

Oh dear, what a shame, never mind.

I hope at the end of the season we get to pass one another and wave as they go down and we move back on up.

It’ll be funny if the manager gets sacked and his replacement doesn’t fancy Lyle or play him at all.

Be careful what you wish for!
    Life changing move!

Idolised by our fans. Moves to a 'bigger wealthier club', well if he doesn't hit form, his dream move could be a nightmare. #notourproblem

I have a feeling he might end up being loaned out to a L1 club in January.

Can’t believe you didn’t include the inevitable question at the end of your post!

Yeah, it's a funny thing. Players can be meh at several clubs and then at their next club, they can really find their groove and suddenly they are the big star there. Everything works out for them.

Trouble is, it can go to some players heads, they begin to believe they're Billy Bigbolox and agitate for the big move £££££££££
And at their new club, perhaps in the dressing room or with their fans' high expectations, it all goes flat.

Still, in Taylor's case while he's counting his money, he might perhaps not care so much about the football - after all, as he has often said, to him it's only a job.

How's old candy floss head getting on?

    Oh dear!
  • If they move on from Lamouchi early and getting somone like Howe, I can still see them having a really good season to be fair
  • When we go up and forest go down we can all wave at taylor on the way
Now that would be poetic justice

Taylor was a very good player for us. We have to admit that. Had he played out last season, I think he would have left with our good will and lasting gratitude. I suppose there was a chance he could have got injured, but I think there were players like Sarr who was out of contract and even players on loan from other clubs willing to do their bit.

The biggest problem for Taylor, may not be what we fickle fans think of him, but what fellow pros may think of him. He will have had team mates at Charlton who were negatively affected by his decision. It won't be just those that may now be suspicious of his credentials as a team player. Not a problem when things are going well on the pitch, but they might be if things are not.

I can never forgive Taylor for not helping us to the end of the season and probably stop us being relegated, but I don't blame him for leaving in the end for the way RD and Southall messed him about over his salary

I think that is a sub plot that doesn't weaken his position. But ultimately, the end of the season was about his team mates and fans. or at least should have been.

    "I can't play...just incase I get injured".

Lesley works in an office. Her job isn't fun. She doesn't have a passion for what she does.

She thinks she will be able to get a higher paid office job.

She still decides to go to work. It's in her contract and It's what she gets paid to do.

She says bye to her fellow colleagues and she continues to do her job for the next month after she hands in her notice. Lesley has proven to show professional dedicated respectful loyalty. Lesley won't be on the recieving end of cheers. No one really appreciated what she did. She simply just did her job and what she gets paid to do.

    Lesley is not a twat.

(She's also a fictional character I made up. I don't have any friends called Lesley)

If he went in the stocks for a week (remember Tiswas ) and apologize for not playing the 3 games when still under contract then why wouldn't you want a guy who was brilliant for Cafc and could get us promoted.

It won't happen because Charlton fans do hate big time and Taylor has burnt his bridges. Lyle saw through Matthew Southall for the shyster he was. I'm still amazed that some normally sharp CL posters didn't realize until the window shut that MS was a wrong'un.

Lyle Taylor made a mistake in not playing till the end of his contract. I'm still gutted for Cafc, but also gutted for him because the goals, assists and good things he does off the pitch has been erased from memory.

Or maybe he works in the football industry with a wide network of knowing who is who and was spoonfed information about MS.

Lyle Taylor and his agent certainly knew that the failed footballer, agent, property speculator, was not the real deal.

Had a chance meeting and interesting conversation with Lyle about many subjects on the day he sponsored Cafc women.
He was a confident speaker and the love of his family shone through; so he sacrificed his relationship with Charlton fans to get a life changing contract for the first and probably last time in his football career.

I can't hate Lyle but being a Charlton fan, I do want him to fail at Forest.
