If Solly was willing to play if needed, why didn’t he return? Fear of injury in training?
Can we put this to bed once and for all?

Solly was never going to be picked by LB. He hadn't been selected in the previous six months and was told he wasn't good enough to be offered a new contract even if we went down.  In the games that Solly refused to play post covid and when under contract, we did not concede a single goal. We beat both Hull and QPR 1-0 and drew with Cardiff 0-0. We didn't need him for those games. That season we won, in total, three of the 15 games Solly started. So how, exactly, was he going to improve the side?

Solly was thrown under the bus because it suited LB to do so, along with Davis, as he wanted to create a "them and us" siege mentality. Yet not one person ever calls Davis out, do they? Solly might have been Club captain but LB didn't think he was good enough as proven by us not offering him a new contract and the very next season he was playing in the Conference.

That is why he is back with us a coach. Because it suited the narrative at the time to make him a scapegoat. And yet, the one who really did hurt us, Taylor, was forgiven in a nanosecond by LB who then signed him when manager at another club.

I find it really strange that fans struggle with all the facts before them when the Club, who know absolutely everything that went on, welcomed Solly back with open arms as a coach. I just don't get that. There are far more serious things in life going on than venting ones spleen on someone who wasn't wanted by us at the time, despite the message that LB wanted to convey at that time, anyway.
Mostly because what you say is not facts, there are some states coupled with opinion, its makes the whole thing even more bizarre? Why would Solly refuse to play if he knew he wasnt going to anyway?

Dress it up however you like but people are more forgiving to Solly because "he is one of our own" as oppossed to Taylor who actually sets out the terrible way he was treatrd by the club. Do i agree with Taylor refusing to play ? No not in a million years, Do i understand it ? 100%
Was Taylor actually treated in a “terrible way” by the club?

Very much so given the story behind the Brentford offers being rejected after telling Charlton they'd pay the price wanted.

If you blindly believe the side of the story painted by Taylor sure.
Why would you not believe that, given our ownership at that time?

    To summarise -

Chris Solly " theres a lot went on people dont know, I wont give any details but cant wait to get my story out at a later date"

Our fans "YeAh soLlY wuN ov R oWn, neVEr do NeTIng wroNg, mUSt oV BeEn TrEaTEd BaD By ROlAnd and ThE ReGiEme"

Lyle Taylor "I understand why Charlton fans are upset, heres why I made my decision"

Our fans "ScuMbAg, HoW DaRE yoU CriTicSie RoLAnD and ThE RegIme, aLL LiEs"

I remember  us playing Birmingham City while Taylor was having his hissy fit, Birmingham subbed on a teenage kid when they were 1-0 down.  He changed the game and Brum equalised.
The teenage kid had an agreement to join some German team from Dortmund. He didn't seem to worry about an upcoming big move being derailed by injury. Think the kids name was Bellingham.

They had the 2019 playoff match on last night late, I had to work on the actual day and only saw the highlights afterwards so it was all fairly new to me. A few things surprised me how the team disintegrated so quickly with few players staying very long afterwards (Bielik, Aribo, Cullen, Bauer, Parker, Sarr etc), what a shambles we were off the pitch, seeing Jim Rodwell handing out medals?, and finally how hard working and how involved Taylor was. He set up the equaliser, was always back covering, provided an easy out ball and defended corners well. It just feels totally wrong that it all ended the way it did.

Having read the submissions from the Taylor defence committee, I have now changed my mind.

I am delighted that his actions caused our relegation and subsequent five years of misery. It was no more than we Charlton fans deserved, it was entirely our fault that he was treated badly by the same owners that treated us fans badly.

I suggest we have a whip round to reinburse the £72'000 he is owed and be thankful for it...

The prick's just been sent off for a violent tackle, studs up, caught the oppo in the midriff.  Chelmsford now losing 0-2 to WSM.
And the divvy reporter has called him Jack Taylor and Taylor Clark in two updates only seconds apart. Shame.

BBC vidiprinter on final score reporting Lyle Taylor sent off in their FA Cup game against Weston Super Mare, but the on scene reporter says it was actually Taylor Clark. And now Weston Super Mare are 2-0 up.

That whole podcast is essentially ex pros talking about their shitty behavior whilst at various clubs whilst the moron presenters just laugh along.
This. With the insufferable Jon Parkin throwing in the c bomb at least 10 times each cast.

Basically, his behaviour is exactly why, at the age of 30, he is where he is in his career. He has probably self destructed wherever he has gone because that is exactly what he has done with us. Good riddance to him.
        Rob you are 100% correct.

I really liked his passion and energy when he first signed for us. Sadly it all went to his head.

You say that, but the guy is 35 yrs old and playing non league football.

There is more chance of him playing Baller League.  (Or playing against Charlton in a revamped Masters Football).
