Doesn’t add up to me. I get players need a couple of games off the bench but he returned a month ago.... how long to get over two months out?
Hull (15mins) | 8-days rest | QPR (90-mins) | 4-days rest | Bristol City (90-mins) | 3-days rest | Derby (45-mins) | 3-days rest | Swansea (45-mins)
Bet someone like Williams will be involved a lot quicker because there is a week to recover between games from West Brom (11th January) to Stoke City (8th February) which is five games2 -

thigh injury apparently0

Taken off at HT due to a thigh injury according to Louis.0

Explains why I thought he looked lethargic1

He was manhandled all half, I'm not surprised he got hurt. The negative is that Lyle is injured. The positive is that all the people on here claiming that they could tell he wanted to leave because of the way his chin was aimed after a long ball look even more hilarious now

Easy to forget that whilst out injured he was able to do zero fitness.
Since he's had to nurture himself up in limited training and playing time.
I truly hope it's not another hamstring/quad injury.

Look at Williams, he had barely played 90 minutes for us because of his injury issues but I don't see anyone having a go at him.8 -
I have mixed feelings if Lyle jumps ship...
I didn’t agree with the vitriol here when Karlan left for a Prem team- he is very young and why wouldn’t you leave League 1 to go to the promised land. Definitely didn’t approve of the booing last month and the chants directed at him.
With Lyle, at his age, I think that CAFC made him along with AFC Wimbledon, he was with Partick Thistle and Scunthorpe prior. Naively possibly, we have new owners, he could still progress further in his career. He is 29, not the youth of Karlan .
All that said money talks and no doubt Lyle has a mortgage, family to support and needs to chase the dollar....., even more so I suppose if you are looking at that final big pay day.
Anyway hope he stays, met him a couple of time’s and he seems a decent guy.6 - Sponsored links:

I know it goes against a few people’s thoughts tonight, but I actually thought it was his best performance, since he’s come back from injury.
Gutting he’s now picked up another injury, but understandable why he’s had to play, as we are at rock bottom with players out, I’m guessing he could be out for 2-3 weeks? We’ve had got to get some quality transfers over the line quickly!1 -
It's all a ploy to keep prospective buyers at bay until end of transfer window.most probably rubbing of shorts on his thigh.0

Throw him in for 90mins every game over Xmas and he'd have gone off injured long before now!! - Its not difficult to work out, it really isnt!!!15 -

I sense that some people are desperate for there to be a problem behind the scenes with him when in reality there most probably isn't.

This. If it's not his political pronouncements on Twitter, it's his body language, or having the temerity to go off and get injured when called up by his country.
Hope everyone who is slating hime will be happy when spongefoot comes back to replace him.

Like how his performance in the first half of the Swansea game, because he is not interested or is trying to not get injured, was the reason why they were cutting our midfield apart and him going off was the reason we were better the second.
Where in reality I think, as lots of managers tend to do these days, Bowyer would have changed the formation for the second half and Davison would have gone off for the extra midfielder ahead of a fully fit Taylor.
Indeed I would be quite interested to see the first half stats to see out of our two strikers who covered more ground, made more passes etc because I felt like Taylor was the better of the two up top.
That being said Davison was very good in the second half which is encouraging.5 -
Play amateur football so comparison you could take as meaningless if you like. But a thigh strain is one the worst to get rid of even if minor, requires so much rest, and they reoccur even with a slightly premature return, could easily be a month or so this unfortunately..1

FA has hit the nail on the head, he is coming back from an injury and with a busy schedule its harder to recover let alone from a injury which laid him off for months. Personally I felt he did as much as he could the first half against Swansea, held up the ball when he got it, which was not a lot. People on here/ social media seem to have a vendetta, until he is leaves this is all just fabricated. Hopefully it hasn't set him back too much following last night and playing a bit recently (whilst still not over his injury), always 100% committed for me on the pitch against Derby and Swansea I haven't seen anything.

Why all the negative comments
Hes probably frustrated in himself that's hes not 100% fit
But I thought I read before that the 1st thing the new owners wanted to do was give bowyer and Taylor new contracts so I will talk their word on it for now2 -

I got to meet him boxing day as my son walked out with him as a mascot, nicest bloke we met, sincerely hope he stays as his a great player and there does seem to be a small minority keen on pushing the taylor wants out movement, not the impression I got from chatting to him9

be gutted if he goes - a proven centre forward at the top of his game - like gold dust - be a real blow if we can't keep him - i don't know either way but if i had to guess, i'd say he'll stay. Be a massive indicator of what we can expect from the ESI regime.
