  • Wasn’t even on the bench on Monday, did his short term deal expire 31st December?
  • Lyle will be Bowyers player/assistant when he takes over from a sacked Appleton soon
Keep swigging the whiskey, Bert .

    And Happy New Year !
    I never go top shelf

Happy New year to you also

Yep. There is a fan on their forum saying he has been released but it's only one person so may be wrong.

Contracted for another 3 games but doesn't want to get injured.
Great sign him up "I have a particular set of skills, skills that make me a nightmare for defenders.Sign me now and that will the end of it. But if you don't I will find you and score against you"
  • Just seen Exeter vs Wycombe highlights, 1-0 to Exeter. Lyle Taylor provides a neat defence splitting pass that results in a penalty which is saved by Exeter goalie. He should have taken it.Just saying. It's not the end of the season yet.
Putting the football aside, it's a yes from me just for the entertainment value on here!
    🤣👍

No, but it expires in a few weeks so he's refusing to play the last 4 games

  • Has joined Cambridge. Wycombe fans quite happy by the looks of it, 9 appearances 0 goals.
  • ‘Can you give us a smile. No come on, Lyle, a smile please. Look like you’re happy to be here. Okay, forget it, we’ll use that one.’
  • What a shame he won't be appearing at The Valley.

I think he keeps switching to sides that we've already played at home so he doesn't have to!

He'll score the winner against us in Cambridge

I thought you'd have more to say on this turn of events @KingKinsella ;)
  • Does he think that playing in League One is now beneath him?
  • Shame we couldnt get this one over the line

Not only struggling to score  goals but also struggling to smile despite his dream move to Cambridge.

Probably does but will take the money.
  • It actually wouldn't surprise me if he scored a few there.. Cambridge is a very small pond and for an egocentric prat he may just thrive.
I wonder if they lose their striker now who we have been lined with.

So are Wycombe and how did that turn out?

looking at lyles career, he was ok for a bit at Falkirk and Wimbledon, very good for us but the rest of his career, he has been a below average journey man. I reckon his Cambridge stint will be another journey man stint.

Agree. Also, he's made his money and he's just eeking out whatever he's got left. No motivation to achieve anything now.
  • I think they've signed Lyle because of an injury to Gassan Ahadme not sure if he's actually gone back to Ipswich formally but I did see he broke his foot and is out for a while

Perhaps we can now see that this is why he did not want to get injured playing those last few games for us because had he picked up an injury of any longevity, at the age of 30, he really would have missed out on his dream move. He openly admitted that he doesn't like the game and perhaps his only motivation for playing was the money and the adulation. In that order.

Weren't we linked with Ahadme briefly in the window?

Dont know if was an empty rumour, but if we were, we're injuring players through the power of thought now!!

Yeah his name came up before Christmas , now he's out for 10 weeks.
  • Scored his first goal today soon after coming on as sub.
