  • Excellent... Beat Ukraine and we qualify for the U20 World Cup next year
  • England face Ukraine @ 4:30pm today

Doesnt look like it'll be an easy game though as Ukraine beat France 2-1 in their opening match
  • England 1-0 up after 8 minutes
  • 1-1 poor defending for the goal.
  • A friend of a friend is high up in FA and Premier coaching set ups - employed by both.

He says Mason Mount is the one and his season loan at Derby could be the making of him. He is concerned Foden won't play enough. Sancho and Chalobah are players too he says.

Solanke won't play enough nor Brewster unless he goes out on loan this season - he's number 7 in the pecking order at Liverpool !
  • Mount was player of the tournament when we won the U19 Euro's last summer. Did brilliantly on loan at Vitesse last season as well.

Yeah Solanke and Brewster are never going to play. I think i read Gerrard wanted to take Solanke on loan at Rangers. He definitely needs a loan move.
  • The number 19, Kirby, looks a good player. He was a part of the under 17 winning team.

    Shame he’s a Nigel though
  • England face France today in the last Group Game

Win the Group and we face Portugal, come second and we face Italy (Both games on Thursday) - Lose against France and we have to hope that Turkey beat Ukraine else we're "out" and go into a Play-Off against Norway to qualify for the U20 World Cup next year

    Table ATM

    Ukraine 7 points
    England 5 points
    France 4 points
    Turkey 0 points
  • 1-0 down, France have taught us a lesson during the opening 30 mins.

    2-0 France.

Have to make sure we beat Norway to qualify for the under 20 World Cup.
  • 3-0, another stupid mistake

    5-0 France
  • The French kid Gouiri looks a real talent. Top scorer at the U17 Euros 2 years ago, scored 5 at the U17 World cup and now has 4 goals in 3 games here. Can't imagine he'll be at Lyon for long if he keeps that up.

This is his scoring record for the French youth teams.

    France U17 13 games, 15 goals
    France U18 5 games, 5 goals
    France U19 7 games, 7 goals
  • The France 7 was different class, didn't catch his name.

  • Tbf our two best players - Foden and Sancho - are with their clubs. So not gonna panic about our chances at the World Cup in 2026 just yet.

Not to mention the likes of Mount, Brewster, Sessegnon and Hudson-Odoi who could've been picked.

Stick those 6 in the side and we'd have won the tournament.
  • Gouiri has already played a few times for the Lyon first team so not much of a shock that he looks a cut above the rest out there.
  • Has this tournament got much attention in England? Haven't seen much about it on the internet but wondered what the level of interest was, especially post-World Cup.

Dont think many people care about England outside of the Senior Squad and even outside of the Euros / World Cup

The U20 World Cup barely got any recognition by the media and the BBC only truly jumped on the bandwagon by showing the Final when we got there - Also if you read on Twitter people are bemoaning that Paul Simpson (again that boring argument that he achieved nothing at club level) is the Manager of the U19 Squad out there at the moment yet arent even aware that he won the U20 World Cup last year
  • England v Norway in play off today at 11.00
  • England v Norway in play off today at 11.00

We beat them 3-2 in the Group Stages of the 2005 competition

Same again please England - Be a shame if we cant defend our U20 World Cup title, not to mention annoying the fact we've been hamstrung without our key players
  • Losing 1-0 with 15 mins left. Norway deserve it as well.
