Bowyer still in charge by the Sunderland game?

Bowyer would expect to lose the caretaker tag by August 4 when the League One campaign starts rolling.

“I think it has to be changed before Sunderland – either way,” he said. “Whether new people come in, or it is the current owner. He [Duchatelet] has already said if nothing changes by August then we’ll have a chat and sort something out.”

The above from the South London 8 days ago.

The ongoing stalemate between the owner and scarf wearing Aussies does not likely to be resolved in the next 10 days, so Du Chat Away has a big decision to make with Lee. Give him the job on a permanent basis or run the risk of losing him before the first game

No idea but we are the only club in the top 5 divisions of English football with a caretaker in charge.

What is the risk of losing him? Another appointment will not be made and he will be in charge. It is what it is and bowyer is aware of that

It's simple enough for Duchatelet to deal with this. Give LB the job on a one year contract. If the Aussies or whoever else takes over and want to pay him off, they can - and it won't be Duchatelet's problem then anyway.

This should have been done already. Makes no sense to bring in someone else at this stage.

I suspect Bowyer’s comments about player departures not being a matter for him is a hint of frustration there.
