Zoe Smith - Weightlifter - a Request for Funding

As Zoe is a local lass from Abbey Wood I thought i would post this up as I saw from her Twitter feed she is looking for funding to get to the Tokyo Olympics. According to her GoFundMe page, UK Sport have cut funding to British Weightlifting.

I'm sure there are many more worthy causes out there but she's looking to raise £10,000 so that she can get to the 6 different events to compete and qualify for Tokyo. I just thought i would add this in case anyone wanted to throw in a few quid.

    A sad state of affairs. The goverment no longer make any meaningful contribution to sport, relying on Camelot whose pursuit of profit fails to recognise that punters don't want an infintessible chance of winning an obscene nine figure sum. People bought tickets wishing for a life changing jackpot. Many no longer do, and Sport in general is poorer.

    Sport gets tons of money from the lottery, the problem is with how UK sport allocate the funds. Unless you have a chance of winning medals, they're not interested
