Rangers are going to have to find a way of beating Celtic head to head if they are going to stand any chance of winning the title. On yesterday’s showing that looks difficult. Celtic may well indeed have already won the title.
Unless Celtic do well in Europe (don't laugh) or get a few injuries it's hard to see how Rangers will even be within 15 points of Celtic by May.
The gap is already 5 and they've only played 4 games.
What Celtic faced last night was a totally different beast to what they face week in week out. Quality, pace, strength. No real surprise in that result.

The level of Scottish football doesn't help them at all. When you coast through most games against opposition that is probably on par with the bottom half of the Championship, i imagine it's difficult to suddenly up your game a few levels to compete in the CL.
One other thing to note is how bad Slovan Bratislava must be if Celtic pumped them 5-1.

The quality of teams outside of Rangers, Celtic, and maybe Aberdeen is really L1 level. Right now Rangers would probably be mid-table Championship, Celtic pushing for promotion in the Championship or battling against relegation in the English Premier League.
As an example, Scott Fraser was atrocious for us, hadn’t kicked a ball all season, and he just went straight into Dundee’s match day squad last weekend after signing for them (he even came off of the bench). As awful as Charlton are, we would probably survive in the SPL.
I love Scottish football for familial reasons, plus I like that it feels like a bit of a throwback to a slightly less corporate, sanitised time compared to what’s happened in the English game. I try to get to a couple of matches a season and watch a fair amount on TV (watching matches on BBC Alba is particularly crazy!). But in terms of quality, it’s absolutely abysmal.
Never heard of Jimmy Thelin and the league is Mickey Mouse but it's difficult to argue too much with his record since taking over at Aberdeen - P 15, W 14, D 1, L 0 - with that one draw in the SPL game against Celtic.
Where do rangers go from here? £17m loss on last year, can their afford to sack the manager? Who they gave a new contract to recently. They’re still paying the two previous managers.

Will someone poach him soon? Doing a brilliant job

And third isn't just a bad finish, it means much less money as not in Champions League so fall further behind Celtic financially while Aberdeen catch them up.
Aren’t Rangers something like £134 million in debt ? That’s a hell of an amount when revenues are limited. I suspect they’ll be up for sale within a year or two.

Rangers guaranteed to close the gap with a win at Killie today.
Action from the Threave Rovers Vs Stranraer Scottish Cup game last night. Not sure what's better the first or second fall.
Come on Aberdeen and anyone but the bigoted two

His next move will be interesting.
