Taskmaster

Felt like a return to form tonight. Much stronger tasks all the way through.1

Spoiler for the smell taskI think where Rosie went wrong on the smell task is that the jars were airtight, so the egg and milk didn't go off as much as you'd expect. I think Andy was robbed though going by the reactions of the other contestants.1

Last couple have episodes have been really good.
Andy Zaltzman in particular was really funny tonight.

Does feel like it's finally warmed up. Took a while but it's finally got there, really good tasks again although the Puppet one might haunt me.3
-
Tonight's episode was the best so far. I love Andy Zaltzman's sense of humour, his Pidgeor was brilliant1
-
Ok episode tonight. I feel like the cast are starting to click, but the tasks have been bad all season. (The puppet one tonight was fun though)0
-
Think Thorpe Park has been one of the better outside task locations, possibly since the Gatwick South Terminal was used during the pandemic series.1
-
I think it's just going to be one of those middle of the road okay seasons, its not terrible but I don't think it's ever going to be one of the best either.MarcusH26 said:Does feel like it's finally warmed up. The studio banter is definitely doing all the heavy lifting compared to the tasks, especially the final studio tasks which have been rubbish.1 -

Yeah I think it's just going to be one of those middle of the road series. It's a shame because I think Emma Sidi despite doing quite badly is a fantastic TM contestant.

Just caught up and thought that was a great episode. Think the series as a whole is missing having a couple of really short tasks that are done in 5 minutes. That said, loved the robot task this week0

Really struggling with this series and unfortunately it's because of Rosie.
I never have and never will find her funny and, historically, when I hear her voice I have changed the channel. I'm really struggling to find the energy to watch it2 -
I've not enjoyed her work in the past - a big part of the issue for me is that by the time she reaches a punchline (for obvious reasons), you've seen it coming a mile off, so the comic timing is basically not there.Swisdom said:Really struggling with this series and unfortunately it's because of Rosie.

But I think she's been good on Taskmaster - I guess maybe because of the unscripted and slightly chaotic nature of it, you can't work out what she's going to say and so it's better. May also be because she's in small doses given she has a 7th of the screen time etc.
Andy and Emma have been my favourites this series but Rosie has (in my opinion) been good.2 -
Honestly think that a large part of the reason people are enjoying Rosie more is that you have to give her more time if you're enjoying the rest of the show. The more time you give her the easier she is to listen to. She's also a total loose cannon so on a show like this will say something totally unfilteredNorth Lower Neil said:

This is where I am at too. I've never found her funny on other things but on TM it's kinda worked a lot better - any contestant that basically sets out to make it hell for Alex will make for good TV.
Andy was basically made for Taskmaster, the puns and general ridiculousness will always work well.
If Jack does end up winning - that's going to be a very interesting dynamic to throw into a Champion of Champions 3 with Sam Campbell and John Robins....2 -
a brilliant episode last night absolutely bossed by Rosie. her relationship with Jackie is wonderful
and a cameo from Daniel Kitson thrown in, he must be the dream booking now that Jack Dee has been on1 -
thought it was an all timer of an ep, incredibly silly.rina said:a brilliant episode last night absolutely bossed by Rosie. her relationship with Jackie is wonderful

Kitson would be a dream but no way it ever happens0 -
Sadly I think you're right. The chances of him showing his face on TV are slimfenaddick said:

Enjoyed the final episode tonight.
One thing though: I'm surprised they didn't pick up on the fact that during the 'count the chairs' task Andy said a number ("I couldn't eat a whole one").1 -

brilliant series in the end. really glad zaltzman got the win, he's the one I'd like to see in CoC

just seen the leaked lineup for season 19
avoiding spoilers but I'm very, very excited by the American- one of my absolute favourites0 -
Don't think it would actually have changed anything in the grand scheme of things, scores wise.EpsomAddick said:Enjoyed the final episode tonight.

Andy did gamble on the hot dog costume too and got completely screwed over so karma did balance at least!1 -
Think Zaltzman was a worthy winner in the end and a very interesting addition to CoC4 alongside Sam Campbell and John Robins.
New Year's Treat looks interesting too. Martin Lewis feels like an inspired choice and it will be interesting to see if Professor Hannah overthinks things in a VCM style.0 -

Jack said It's 'one of those exercise' balls too, and if they were to be that picky I wonder if a few said 'to'/two (I'm going to walk round here) etc, probably easier to stick more to the more obvious numbers like Jack and Rosie etc.
Really enjoyed this series, best one since Dara, Fern etc. Andy and Emma in particular were great.

I do think this is one of the stronger recent series because it didn't have an obvious winner from the start. I liked John Robins but he didn't really have any competition due to the amount of disqualifications.
Emma I'd love to see more of on panel shows , she's got such brilliant comic timing.2 -
I thought Andy might try getting away with wearing the hotdog costume all episode and say he should get double points in the first and last task.

Mildly tinfoil but I wonder if Jack had an agreement to make sure he was "one and done" (no CoC or anything) as he was very close to winning then got hit with a bunch of disqualifications and low scores which he seemed very chill about.North Lower Neil said:EpsomAddick said:Enjoyed the final episode tonight.

Not a conspiracy or a criticism, just an idle thought.1 -
I would say it's very much a spoiler as there is an official announcement (probably after the new year special) which a lot of people like to watch without knowing who is on in advanceMrOneLung said:
