Draw was definitely the fair result, felt like they were better for about half hour of the first half and then second half we came out strong and conceded two soft goals. Sollys late equaliser was deserved. Luton played some good football at times and have some good players. They will be up there towards the end.
I didn't record the first half because I forgot to but I did record the second half if anyone would be intersted. I'm just not sure where to upload it, assuming if I upload it on YouTube they will take it down?
wasn’t deserved but was deserved at the same time. real test of character and we came through it. that’s what promotion teams do, get points in games where they play badly. we’re on our wayyyyyyy
That's the kind of point we just wouldn't have got under any of the other managers in the Duchatelet era since Powelly. We didn't really deserve anything but the team showed tremendous grit and character to come back after those two gut-wrenching Luton goals. Get at least a point when you haven't played very well, away, against a good side with a great home record - that's the sign of a team that is serious about a promotion challenge. Well played the lads.
Thought we were brilliant in patches, less good in others. Taylor and Igor did not link in anywhere near the same way as Taylor and Grant, although I thought Taylor was still decent. Aribo was MOM for us. Deserved a draw over the balance of the whole 90 minutes but we couldn't have complained too much if Luton had won, they were very decent.
If you're going to draw, then last minute high Drama with an equaliser from a Charlton legend is the way to do it. One for the connoisseurs here, but there was a midweek away game in a freezing Burslem some years ago, when Gritty walloped in a late equaliser, it felt like that. turned the long dreary night time coach home from Port Vale into a much happier place, and Solly today, like Gritty then, has made the return journey for the travelling faithful a good one. I thought it was actually a pretty high class game all round. Luton capitalised on the home team kicking the right way second half thing pretty well, but we got battered late on as general exhaustion and Sarr's vulnerability was exposed, but then fought back brilliantly. Make no bones about it, the late equaliser today is defining the Bowyer era better than a lot of other things. It started to go right for Luton around the time Page was injured and treated, we lost our shape and composure a bit, and a very decent and competitive Luton did well to force themselves ahead. There was even a kind of inevitability about it just at that time in the match I am sorry to say. Earlier, Reeves in the first half, and Taylor in the second could and should have given us a two goal cushion, but to an extent there was a kind of Charlton double edged thing going on. Igor twice in a couple of minutes, shortly before Luton scored, broke back very well to thwart a Luton attack, but it also signalled a bit of a break up in our formation generally. Some players were having in and out games as well which made us look weak in places and at times, Fosu and Reeves and Igor, but Cullen and very especially Aribo were rock solid and for the most part on their game throughout. I have to give credit to Nathan Jones for finding a way to occupy Taylor, but also to Bowyer for getting our guys to confront every Luton player within half a second of them receiving the ball, maybe such sheer hard work contributed to a bit of tiredness and that second half dip. Pearce is so competitive that to an extent his ethic bleeds into his team mates. However sheer hard work wasn't quite enough around the 75th minute mark. The finale was high drama, with a series of set pieces, and interventions and woodwork kept us away, and like everybody I thought our luck was out, but our luck was in because we have a wonderful footballer called Chris Solly playing for us. Bosh, good result, on to Tuesday.
@Beardface has put a gif of the Solly goal on the match thread. 8 players in their box. Celebrating mocking their fans, Players like Solly and Aribo doing it who are normally placid. Was there some needle there today?

Just before the goal went in, the Luton fans in that corner were refusing to give us the ball back to take the corner. More a bit of "haha got what you deserved" reaction...
Great way to claw it back. Such scenes in the away end when Solly scored so buzzing, but so frustrated at the lapses in concentration that allowed them back in the game when we were in control
Couldn’t see who cocked up for their equaliser but was very annoyed. And then to just cave in a few minutes later makes me question the defence a bit
However great spirit to fight back and go till the end
point a fair result given our naivety at the back and sloppiness. Hope we learn our lesson as up until about the 70th minute, we were in control
1. Not sure Steer has to come for the first. If he stays their striker would've had a worse angle or he takes a touch and the defenders are on him. 2. Wtf are Luton wearing red at home for?

Didn't lose and a hard place to go but still disappointed after leading for so long.
Dont know which is the harder to get the win from though
Hopefully thats good enough to deny Bowyer the Manager of the Month award
Grant and Taylor are the key
This siege never say die mentality in the squad is a great thing, cant wait for Scunthorpe Tuesday night now!!
Today just proved that promotion will be tough this season. Pompey, Barnsley and Doncaster all getting good away wins.
10 games into the season and the top 5 sides have lost just 4 games between them.

Win at home draw away = 2 points a game.

2012/13 Blackpool
2018/19 Luton
Next goal should be 20/21 as Solly scores in clusters.
