Can I give my apologies please. Had every intention of going but heard on Saturday that there was an urgent meeting of my tennis committee and I just can't get out of it.

Likely story.
Urgent. Tennis. Committee.
Idiot
That’s the sort of behaviour that deserves to lose points. I assume you are before the committee and not on it.
I went. The attendance was around 40. We heard from the Portsmouth bloke about their travails and the role of their Trust which was very interesting indeed, and lessons can be learned from that. The business part of the meeting outlined a lot of Trust activities, and impressed me in how much is done by the hardy band of volunteers and how much is tried on behalf of Charlton fans in and out of the Trust, and for me it felt worth the less than ten pence a week it costs to be a member, it also turned out that the Trust membership had shrunk by 16 people over the last year, some 1.5% of the membership, which given the larger percentage loss in Charlton football attendances I thought was pretty good. The Trust website will have a report of the Trust meeting earlier today with the EFL which I understood lasted an hour and a quarter. All I would say is that Charlton fans can support fan organisations as much or as little as they so choose, but in my view the £5 a year membership of the supporters Trust is money well spent, and I wish the membership could grow a bit more. Mind you our Trust is nearly double the Trust membership at Fulham, and substantially bigger than most other clubs.
Many great examples tonight of how hard Trust volunteers work, and great to see some new faces on the board and no arm twisting required
@se9addick nothing to see here I was on best behaviour(ish)
End of an era though with one of the Richards leaving (the Don himself). How many are left now? Mind you there was an unexpected Richard there tonight..

Richard the Third, Little Richard, Cliff Richard?
I assume you are maybe alluding to Richard Murray. He’s the only Richard I can think of whose attendance would be unexpected.
But hey ho keep us guessing why don’t you. It’s like East Kent Addicks reinvented.
Shame. All the best @PragueAddick and thanks for all your efforts over the years.
Thanks mate, but its not a big deal. If I lived in London I wouldnt have stepped down, but I didnt think it fair to the Trust to only be effective on specific topics, and not to be what @razil calls "boots on the ground".
There may be other people who would like to be active on something specific but for whatever reason dont feel they can stand for the Board. That's what I will do, but the original example of this is @se9addick who is now our ACV specialist.
Kudos to Prague for the distance working. Fully understand why you'd find it difficult to commit on all fronts given your lack of proximity. Thanks for what you have done.
I missed the meeting last night, but could not face the Motorway closures around here in Hythe. Sad to see Richard Hunt has stepped down, but I think the trust does occupy quite a dedicated amount of time and energy. Good to see Razil back on board, after all he really was the driving force to get the trust of the ground, But where are the young un's?..... all the bright young supporters, so good at social media, and other communication skills?.........
Glad that @se9addick is involved with the ACV, how is it going mate?
I still design the trust news ( while my very very, old apple mac still works,) but I think I would have lost my temper at the senior management, running CAFC, months ago, at those meetings!... but then thats me.. .....

Gutted I can’t make it
