Went to Rijken and saw the heavy water plant in Telemark last month and hammocked in the area. How those guys got in and out is beyond me. Just to give an idea The town of Rijken is in a valley that is so narrow and tall that sunlight doesn't reach the floor between october and march. The town actually has a mirror on top of the valley that reflects a 40'x40' patch of light in to the town square. Its difficult enough getting in and out without nazis defending their main source of heavy water to develop the bomb.
If they didn't pull it off we could be living in a very different world indeed. A sliding doors moment for the whole of humanity.
