I am sure many of you will have heard of this memorial (not sure this is the right word to be honest) to those who died on the Somme in WW1 with no known grave. I took a walk round here today and had a chat with the artist who has sewn all of these 72,000+ figures over a 4 year period.
It is quite a striking experience to see, and puts a more real identity to the raw number given for those who died in conflicts. If you get the chance to visit I thoroughly recommend it.
