Forgive my ignorance, but why would you use Instagram instead of Facebook,Whatsapp,et al ? Is there a specific niche for Instagram or is it used for specific things?

It's more for just posting photos and videos so you don't get half the crap you do on FB

whats app is for talking to friends... just like a text but its free
facebook is for ranting about politics or what ever else people are offended by that day
Instagram seem to be more about the visual content, images etc whether that be food/art/models or so on. More actual people use instagram, wether that be your favourite band, or footballer so you can have direct conatct or updates if that floats your boat.

I dont really see the point with it, always get asked to go on it but seems a bit pointless to me.
I have Facebook/ Snap chat for photos, just another thing for people to stalk and check on never really see the point in people just posting pictures.
