I made my own eggnog yesterday. Never tried is before, but loved it. How can I have got through 54 years without doing that before?

I'm going to work in jeans, smart shoes, a workshirt and carrying a curry in a plastic bag. Left all my stuff at work as we had a black tie event on Friday... So first time I've gone to work looking like a tramp who stole some shoes

Reminds me of few Christmases ago when my dad kept calling eggnog "nignog". He absolutely had no idea he was doing it, and whilst it's not a word I care for in the least, it was quite amusing.

first time I have broken a limb, always envied kids at school who broke a leg, had weeks off watching Crown Court & Pipkins and then came back to great fanfare in the playground and swanned about like they owned the place.

Under a week in and realise its over rated and not half as much fun in plaster as I had hoped

We have snowballs every year. It's a bit silly, but has become a family tradition. I'm not sure of all the technical differences, but eggnog is warm and doesn't have lemonade. In fact mine was more like a rum filled omelette than a snowball.

I have to be honest, I've never tried it!
But it looks like badly made custard and I hate runny custard.

You start by whisking egg yolks with caster sugar. IIRC, that's exactly how you start custard as well.
