It still amazes me that people get the concept of Oyster cards and contactless debit and credit cards yet when they go up to the gates at charlton they open up their season ticket wallets and start waving the thing about.

It still amazes me that people get the concept of Oyster cards and contactless debit and credit cards yet when they go up to the gates at charlton they open up their season ticket wallets and start waving the thing about.
Don’t open the wallet up, tap the fucking thing on the front of the machine when the screen says it’s ready.
I think it’s because paper tickets need to have the barcode carefully scanned under the green light, as in a supermarket; this makes season ticket holders feel like they need to do something similar.
