Lee Bowyer. The eventual but yet surprising legend of Charlton Athletic.
What you see....is what you get.
I don't think he treats life like a secret game. He is honest.
His public reactions towards Rolands baffling behaviour...have been refreshingly honest and dignified. Short sweet and simple. Nothing complicated.
There was a time where he was the main cause and the main problem towards what was historically, now, the most well known fight between 2 team mates...on the field of play....Infront of 50,000+ people.
I think that kind of experience has probably served him well and it forced him to take a look at himself.
It did highlight a particular case of short fuse syndrome....but he certainly recieved the neccessary backlash at the time.
It was an experience.
It is about how you react.
He took it. He moved on.
Gareth Southgate will always be remembered for that big costly penalty miss.

Those people end up becoming the better managers.
